fair. Flowers went to school around me and she was pretty good but nothing crazy. Played at the same school that produced Lily Johnson, Maggie Scott, and Melanie Crow She doesn’t need to be “crazy” good on the right. She needs to block balls and terminate in-system. Any system that gets Parker on the left is the correct one. you’re right. She doesn’t need to be an AA just good.

Who plays left or right will depend on who is available to play and on which 2 pins join Parker (if available) in the lineup.
Parker can play on the left or the right. Some of the other leading candidates to play are left side only. So Parker may well stay on the right.
Coming off of the shutdown there is no way all players will be cleared to play -- the conference rules are pretty tough. This will probably require lineup changes too.

I am a Tamas lover and I respect Coach Rose and all that he has accomplished in his career. He is a big part of what makes the B1G superior to other conferences. B1G UP vs West Coast DOWN. I remember the days when the good players from the Midwest would go out West because the volleyball was so much better in California. This is no longer the case. In fact, my opinion is that the coaching in the B1G is superior to the coaching in the Pac-12. BIG coach Hambly departed Illinois for Stanford and won two National Championships (was it one or two, I am seventy and I forget). I suspect that Wisconsin will win a national championship for the same reason that Hambly won two. The badgers are loaded with talent, particularly one extraordinary player Dana Rettke. If they do not win the national championship which I believe they will, it will be an enormous failure by Wisconsin.

I recall Coach Rose talking about the early days of recruiting players to Penn State: Hunt down tall ladies on campus and ask them to throw a rock.

Illinois has a respectable shot at taking a match from PSU. They have been competing while PSU has been shut down, and are certainly capable of stealing a match if they believe they can do it.

Very much agree. Illinois seems to always play very well (fingers crossed) at Happy Valley. With this being Penn State's first match, Illini should be further along on "what works, what needs work, and what won't work". If Illinois continues the tough serving, solid blocking, and improves sustaining rallies (a "what that needs work"), Illinois could return to C-U 3-3 or 4-2. If Ellie doesn't play, Bruna will be hitting against Blossom giving opportunity to demonstrate why recruited to Illinois...I'm waiting. Illini are much better than I thought they would be, so am looking forward to this match. I'm just happy the season is finally going to start for my girls. Can't wait to see both teams in action. I always liked the Illini.

2014. I’m reminded that in a stretch of over 100 home matches during that period PSU lost only three matches at home, two to the Illini.
