I missed the start of this match, but it looked like Lukes played only part of the last match and didn't start today. Is she healthy? (I seem to remember her hitting percentage was much better than Fayad in the last match...but it appeared she wasn't in for the whole match.) Not sure, but she's in now. |

That was an inside, very tight set from Bower to Lukes. Lukes made a good play to try to tool it off of the block. Now she is being subbed out again for Fayad?
Nevermind. She's now in back row.
On the season, Fayad has 3.49 kills/set at .303 (playing 6 rotations) and Lukes has 2.87 kills/set at .274. I had thought Lukes had the hotter hand this season since she returned to the lineup, but I was wrong.

Dodson's slides are beautiful...and what USD used to have...
Even with Turner in the lineup, that was missing this season. Now they are really in a drought of middle attacks.

San Diego is a talented team, but their lack of lineup continuity is always tough to deal with.

The timing is starting to really come around on the Bower to Dodson slides. Still see some awkward ones, but those two are figuring it out.

25-20 BYU Wiblin had 8 kills in the set Wiblin was less effective in her first three seasons at San Diego than I would have predicted. But she has really come on this year with 4.05 kills/set at .295. She has taken over matches. Anyone know if she is returning next year for an extra season? |

Things are not looking good right now for San Diego. BYU has only made 3 hitting errors, to San Diego's 10. San Diego is really only scoring from their pins, and that has slacked off in the second set. USD defense also struggling now.
BYU looks pretty comfortable with a 16-9 lead. (I picked San Diego in the first match, and BYU in the second. I'm going to be wrong at least once...)
Ballard Nixon is playing really well. Now up to 10 kills at .500, and she is hitting hard shots and steep angles.
Fayad and Lukes both have 2 kills hitting 0 right now.
