Was your intent here to upset me or...? You might be in luck. While I'm here for it, it's certainly gonna be a tall task for UCF. Losses (Illini) seem to wake up the giants anyways. UCF graduated the other complimentary leftside to Melville and while the freshman replacement isn't bad, she's not equivalent. UCF is actually a good blocking team as is Purdue, so that's going to be really fun to watch match up against each other. Their starting setter was missing for the AAC Tournament, they need her back to have a chance. I heard it was COVID protocol/tracing, so that is promising for UCF to get her back. But what's their passing/serving like? 🧐

Mizzo over Ohio St Rice over Penn St. These two things could happen. Or OSU could go to the final 4. I can't figure them out.

Missouri/South Dakota Bowling Green/Weber State Illinois State/UNLV Georgia Tech/Lipscomb Samford/Wright State These are the 5 best 1st round matches. Unfortunately, 4 of them are all going on at the same time (7pm ET). I think you're selling Towson-Dayton short. I know Towson only played 6 matches, but they're really good again. The only set they lost this year was to Temple (ultimately won 20-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-18).

But what's their passing/serving like? 🧐 UCF is an EXCELLENT serving team. Combine that with their block, and that's really how they *could* get it done against a Top team. UCF also has an excellent pin-blocker (Anne-Marie Watson who does her best Grace Cleveland impression). I don't think you see many matchups where both teams have over 3 starters with a block per set.

also PSA for anyone without access to ESPN3.
You can sign up for Vidgo and get access for $10 for the first month. You can use that login to access the matches on the ESPN website or whichever device you choose to watch on.

Should be a fun one, then! I'm totally not nervous about it at all 😬

This tournament feels so weird. I have to wait 10 days for matches... and then all of the matches are over within another 10 days. Once it starts, it will fly by.

Let’s get some hot takes in here. Upset picks, surprise teams, first top four seed to exit, anything. Upset: Baylor over Nebraska Surprise: I really want to say Washington State, but will go on a limb and say Missouri First top 4 seed out: Minnesota Ok I’m not the only favoring Baylor to win that match🌚

Interesting stuff from Creighton SID Rob Anderson. See replies to the tweet for specific breakdown of individual team rpi’s. Takeaway is that rpi meant nothing this year, as is fitting the unusual season. Could also make for upset craziness if rpi’s are legit.
