I really like Unlv’s rotational defense, their hitters actually cover for the setter, other teams usually have a communication problem and the ball ends up dropping

UNLV ends the match 3-1. 5 aces for UNLV versus 0 for ISU, and that service pressure was key down the stretch. I am now a Marissa Hayden stan just because of that serve:)

I think if UNLV were playing a lower seed, I could see them really pressuring a team and possibly advance. I'm looking at teams like BYU, Louisville, perhaps WSU (if all their players aren't back) or Utah...maybe even a Ohio State or Purdue.

UNLV versus Kentucky tomorrow...the Cats better get their passing reps in today man. They should be able to out-physical them regardless though.

Hayden will get a few but nobody is more prepared than UK Skinner couldn't handle Deberg. Hayden will test them.

I could have sworn she was the leader last year when I checked the stats, but it's obviously been a while. Edit: According to her bio, she did lead the county in aces/set in both 2018 and 2019.

That isn’t going to define whether or not UNLV can beat an elite team. It will be whether or not they can score in transition and whether they block and defend opposing teams when they are out of system. An elite team can keep the ball off the ground on serve receive, and if UNLV can’t defend against the attack and score when they have the ball, all that service pressure means nothing.

I think the service pressure will help UNLV keep the match closer. Do I think they'll win even if they force Kentucky OOS over 50% of the time (which is highly unlikely)? Probably not. I just want a good, tight match that challenges the top teams; hence, I say that UNLV needs to serve tough. I'm not trying to diss the Cats.

Happy that UNLV got the win, but I think Kentucky easily wins tomorrow.
Boise is the most physical team UNLV has faced this season, but UKs passing is lightyears ahead of Boise.
Just happy to see more of Hayden!
