Any team that loses its 2 best hitters to injury is going to struggle. Especially in the Big West.

What happened??? Confess I didn't watch the match between UNI v. CAL POLY.POLY's Kristina Jordan after having a wonderful match against UCSD on Friday hardly played on Saturday!!! (per stats) I didn't watch it either, but the replay can be seen on demand here. Thanks for the Link! After watching apparently Kristina Jordan was experiencing a little arm soreness. Coach Walters noticed and took her out after set one.
CAL POLY now starts the second half of conference matches,...playing LBSU & CSF at home this weekend.

CAL POLY will start the second half of conference play v. CSF on Friday. A team that gave them fits down in Fullerton.
That match was with Jamie Stivers, someone that will not be in the line up on Friday.
Instead Kristina Jordan and a much improved Amy Hiatt will need to step it up if POLY wants the "W"!!!
Highly touted Tommi Stockham is showing a lot of moxie and is living up to her "bio".

I would not be worried about CSUF but the following night's match vs the newly coached LBSU team leaving with a win .

Mr. Fee, the AD at LBSU, needs to find a solid HC for women's volleyball,... after both CAL POLY & CSUB swept the Beach over the weekend. It was a necessary win for CAL POLY Sat. against LBSU. The five set loss on Friday to CSF was a big disappointment, but, understandable with POLY's third top pin player sidelined. I'm sure it has been discussed why Kristina Jordan is not currently in the mix. I probably just missed it. Coach Walters has introduced a number of RS & true freshmen into her rotation.
Sometimes playing with three freshmen at a time.

Sometimes playing with three freshmen at a time. the Poly - LB match was interestng. Poly is out of the title race. LB has been a mess. the first 25 points of the match had to be the absolute rock-bottom for this Long Beach team & program. a continuation of mistake after mistake, most of LB scoring was Poly serving errors. after that the VB was actually decent. the difference was the Poly libero being superior, and 5 pancake saves for Poly as the 2nd/3rd sets were even other than that. maybe something for LB to build on to finish the season. Poly showed they have some depth.

You could say the majority of Cal polys points were because of LB hitting errors, Kash had a horrible game and Lovett was pulled because she was playing poorly. Cal Poly’s Libero didn’t have a good match, so don’t know why you thought she was superior. She played much better the first time the teams met, this time she didn’t even stand out.

Kash had that absolutely horrific beginning, was markedly more like how she should play the 2nd and 3rd set. And yes, Lovette was horrific, and even with Nelson that front row rotation with Nelson/Canez had LB in a bad spot even after the first set. LB was a mess before the coaches were relieved (not fired), so not sure the performance(s) per se had anything to do with the firing. But yes, not a surpise in any case. Will be interesting to see how the team responds here on out. If Sabrina can develop better MB timing with the setting, and get Kash/Lovette to improve to a level I think they could be at, would be a significant achievement.

If Sabrina could just improve the team's back row defense and passing I would be ecstatic. The back row is just a mess with a lack of individual fundamentals, players do not understand their positioning and the play looks disjointed. Everything else would look so much better with some basic improvements.

To Peyton Dueck, POLY's libero, credit she only had one SE per set.

The last full match played by Jordan was four matches ago,...two weeks past. Either coach doesn't feel she is ready to compete or her injury is not yet healed completely. My guess it's the former and more practice time is required.
