I honestly don't know what will happen in this match. I feel like Purdue really exposed some weaknesses of OSU in their matches. When pressed by a good blocking and serving team, the buckeyes can really ride Londot hard during periods when they are pressed, and that is a lot to ask of a freshman outside against a good blocking team. However, if they can stay diversified, they could avoid getting put into that corner. Somebody else has to come up as a viable option in crunch time so they can turn their tenacious D into some transition offense. The win against Missouri was impressive. If they can get that kind of production from their lefts on a regular basis, they become really really hard to beat.
The matches against Nebraska indicate what a lot of spirit this team has. That can push them through against really experienced competition late in matches. We haven't seen them against the badgers or the gophers, so I don't feel like we know enough about the strengths and weaknesses of the buckeyes yet.

Seems there’s been a lot of these kinds of B1G fans this postseason….. it’s very frustrating. A good majority of them don’t watch anything outside of the big ten matches and will blindly stab and say that the big ten team will win in any given match. On the other hand B1G fans hear every year that this year that the ACC/SEC/B12 teams are much better than they were last year. Then 1/2 of the teams in the regional finals and the final four are B1G teams.

There’s this crazy thing called seeding that makes it much easier for certain teams to advance further in the tournament.

he’s just another big ten fan that doesn’t think teams from other conferences can compete. I’m not sure he actually has anything to back up the claim they aren’t tough. Seems there’s been a lot of these kinds of B1G fans this postseason….. In Sept 2015, lowly U of Iowa beat American U 3-1 in Hawaii. Three months later, American swept #22 Kentucky out of the first round of the NCAA tourney, -24, -17, -21. I'll be watching with interest to see if FL or KY can get it done this year.

So what does it mean when the Big Ten beats those teams who beat (I.e. pac12 teams) just something to think about.

This makes zero sense in the volleyball context.

My fave thing about big ten homers is that they claim the love parity but only when it’s the bad big ten teams getting better.

There’s this crazy thing called seeding that makes it much easier for certain teams to advance further in the tournament. Kentucky has been eliminated by a PAC/B1G team in the last four tournaments. Tough matches, yes absolutely. But at some point you gotta play the match and win. Losing 4 straight (and 2-12 in sets) really negates the idea that they’re getting screwed out of the Final Four.

Where did I say they were getting screwed out of Final Fours? They’ve been seeded to make the final four ONCE, and I think it was pretty common knowledge Nebraska should have been the 4-seed over them. Acting like the SEC sucks because Kentucky loses, as the 9-seed, to Washington, the 8-seed, or as the 10-seed, to Nebraska, as the 7-seed, makes no sense.

Following 2015, Washington has ended Kentucky's season three time and Nebraska once. American, Washington (x3), Nebraska over the last 5 years. The point is neither KY nor FL nor any other SEC has won it all, and I'll be watching with interest to see if one of them can get it done this year. Not against it but will be surprised if it happens.
