Main observations, I do think Murphy was affected by the face shot, straight in the nose has to hurt. And breathing with a mask and gauze up your nose can't be easy.
That said, I also have to wonder how much the change in the 1st set affected the team. Basically Ulmer flipped the setter/opposite connection. He did it to help the block, but the Ducks were definitely off in the 1st set and took them a while to readjust.
Seasons over, but you still gotta be really proud to get a top 10 seed (though I don't know how much of it was deserved), and with essentially everyone coming back, not sure about Borup, but we've got Taylor Williams waiting to come in and she looked solid in the times that Borup was out.
That said, Oregon definitely got worked on the block today. To many bad touches and Purdue was also just swinging thru the block with impunity.
Looking forward to next season!! Go Ducks!

Oregon has a fantastic season, considering what happened last year.
Brooke N is truly a fantastic player to watch, and imo will be the front runner for pac poy next year.

Well, this definitely looks bad for me. #2 in the PAC-12 loses to #5 from the Big Ten.

The switch made no sense. Why change things? Nuneviller normally starts serving too; they were all kinds of messed up.

... No way? I believe you, since I don’t follow Oregon, but she looked lost? I think he meant NOT one of Murphy’s best games. However, the times I have seen her this year she did look pretty solid. I wonder if that ball to the head maybe gave her a concussion. Hope she’s okay!

Congratulations Oregon on a fine season. Brooke is awesome to watch but when Purdue blocks like they did today they deserve the win and will beat Kentucky.

Well, glad I was with people and not posting while watching this yesterday, the first two sets were really frustrating.
The Ducks did a bit better to close, particularly on serve and on the block, and were in position for 4 but just couldn’t put the ball away while Purdue could. Still really frustrated to watch us come out that way, especially because I don’t think the culprit was the setting as it’s so often been. Just nervy swings for errors, lollipop serves, and some really slow defensive reactions.
At least they showed fight to end it and were able to recover, so that’s some progress I guess.
Cleveland was really impressive for Purdue throughout. They came Out swinging and were able to recover from their own dip in play in time.
Sigh. Good progress from 2019 to this season, and in the Fall we seek to figure out how to kill balls more consistently.

He spun the dial 3 rotations from where we usually start in the first round and carried it through to start this match. They reverted for Set 2 and it didn’t make a difference.

I just noticed Nuneviller has Team USA on her IG bio. Is she on the training pool?

I think he meant NOT one of Murphy’s best games. However, the times I have seen her this year she did look pretty solid. I wonder if that ball to the head maybe gave her a concussion. when did she take a ball to the head? She took one to the head, but still had one of her better matches, she ended up with 14 digs (Nuneviller had 22). Not her fault at all Oregon lost (really should have closed the 4th set). And like I said, she has improved massively from year 1, it's almost like a new player. She's decent, she just has a hard time picking up digs, not sure if she's ever had a "wow" moment. But we need her for passing and she has been solid this year, especially compared to last year. Now with setting, I wonder if it will be like the Raskie case where they really shine their senior years. Hopefully everything improves by fall.
