Purdue wins the first set 25-17. Oregon made a little bit of a run at one point, but that was pretty dominant.

This is going as I expected. Purdue offense too fast and Ducks not putting enough service pressure on. spoke too soon Too soon for what? Check the score.

Terrible set and then net violation by Ducks to give Purdue the 1st set 25-17. Ducks just started too slow and not firing up. Purdue playing strong and getting good blocks.

I will say this: Oregonβs passing is truly elite, and that worries me. It is hard to get them out of system.

Borup not looking very effective in this set for Ducks. Also didn't think her serve receive looked that reliable. I know she can do better though. Let's hope she gets going in the second set.

The difference in the sets to the middles and therefore the production from the middles between both teams is huge. Especially Jael Johnson, Purdue is getting offense from every position although Ellis is struggling

Too soon for what? Check the score. now you respond. My point was made. Now you can make that statement, not when you did.
That said, Oregon did have that last point of the set, but not worth the challenge at that point.

The video on that challenge is a great example of why volleyball needs to use high-speed cameras. The video was interlaced just where it could have possibly showed a touch or not.

I wondered about that, but I think possibly Ulmer was sending a message to his players that every point matters? (I'm not normally in the habit for finding favorable interpretations for Ulmer's actions, but there you go....)
