This Italy team is not a pushover, they just took the second set off Poland's 'A' team. This could be a battle. I guess don’t mess around with Serbia and Italy’s back ups is what we learned today lol

Idk who's playing right now, but I think this is their 'A' team for the VNL...Smarzek and Stysiak are struggling but I'm not sure it's because of the setter. Also, Poland's new OH2 is not it.

Look's like its Nowicka. She's young, like 21 or 22. She played on the same Polish team as VJP

Oh snap. Clayton Lucas is commentating after all! Who’s that with him in the CHN-KOR match? Mark Lebedew, current/former coach of the Volleyroos. (Australian MNT)

Bosio and Mingardi will win many matches for Italy at this tournament. They're very good, just unfortunate they're stuck behind Egonu and Malinov/Orro.

So is the British guy commentating on this ITA-POL match Clayton Lucas? I'm trying to learn more commentator names.

Definitely sounds like him to me, and he has style.

USA sweeps DOM. Looks like Italy gave Poland a solid run for their money in the first set before Poland took it 25-22. Also there's an Aussie commentator doing ITA-POL lol. i would listen to this man doing a reading of the dictionary Hehehe.

This Italy team is not a pushover, they just took the second set off Poland's 'A' team. This could be a battle. Yeah, I really think the level of play in the Italian league was up this year. This team had a bunch of solid performers (“is” in the following referring to this recently finished season’s teams - not necessarily the same as next year.) Mingardi is the starting opp for Busto Arsizio (Poulter) and does a solid job. Lubian is a starting middle at Scandicci (Megan Courtney), playing with Poland’s Stysiak. Smarzek had a rough season with Novara (Hancock, Washington) - so considering Poland’s two top players here play in the same league as most of this Italian team most of the season(Guerra at Firenze, Bonifacio is Washington’s backup at Novara, De Bortoli at Chieri (Frantti, Alhassan) etc.. it makes sense this is a close match. (I could be forgetting a POL or two but most of them compete in the Polish league most of the year, which isn’t as strong as the Italian league.) It’s actually kind of a cool way to compare some pieces of two leagues, since their lineups here so heavily play for one of the two countries.
