I'm guessing the USA roster will drop soon since they're taking photos for media day and whatnot.

It’s sad that the know more about what’s going on with The Chinese and Brazilian team right now that the American team and I don’t even try to follow either one of them that hard. To be fair, Karch also knows more about what's going on with the Chinese and Brazilian teams than the American team.

we got like five insta stories...but the bar is LOW. I checked it out. I love that of all the players shown getting photographed, we saw the four that I am the most excited to watch this season: Akinradewo, Thompson, Plummer and Ogbogu. 🥰🔥

If you want real content Erik Shoji gave an inside look of what a day in the life of a USA Volleyball NT player looks like on his recent Youtube video
For safety protocols the women's and men's team train separately, women's team in the morning and men's team in the afternoon around 2pm. When eating players aren't allowed to sit on the same table as each other, women's and men's have their own designated side in the dinning room. Really fun video showing what the training facility looks like and how their scheduled training works, etc.

A poster over on the men's side said that Karch has a points system for the ladies for when they go do too many "social outings" that could prevent them from making the roster due to putting the other athletes at risk of catching Covid. I don't know if this is true or just gossip. Still, papa Karch appears to be throwing down the gauntlet.

If you saw Boskovic and the rest of the Eczacibasi players, it took them a solid two weeks after their break to look physically prime again. I still don't think Rettke looked like she usually did during the NCAA tournament. As a Texas fan, our libero missed two fall matches and when she came back sis struggled. Part of that might be the break of play, but if this team wants to be at the top, they need to stay safe. Glad they're doing it. Plus as a Cali resident I'm selfish and I like where our numbers are rn.

She was reported to have said that her lungs were on fire while she was playing. We still don't know what long term effects COVID has on the body. There just isn't enough data. I was pleased to see that MBH, after having gotten it TWICE, still looked ok during the Super Finals. I am supportive of Karch doing whatever he has to do to protect the Olympic squad. Any athlete who doesn't feel like they should have to comply should be immediately dismissed IMO.

Dismissed...seems harsh. Regardless it doesn't seem like a problem right now, the athletes all seem committed to taking precautions.

Also, like I said, I cannot verify that what the poster mentioned is even a thing. So....moving on.

Speaking of DR, trojansc do you know if any of the vets have said that they will retire after the Olympics? I think I read somewhere that Rivera was one of the rumored names to do so. www.diariolibre.com/deportes/olimpismo/priscilla-rivera-anuncia-que-se-retirara-despues-de-tokio-2020-y-copa-panamericana-MC26069371Captain Rivera confirms today that she will be retiring this year, but will hang around after the Olympics to play the Pan-Am Cup that DR is scheduled to host a few months after. I imagine she wants one more chance to play at home. While I don't think she will be a key to any success in Tokyo and she really doesn't get it done against the better teams anymore, she has certainly been a part of every amount of success DR has had on the volleyball court. She was crucial in the 2014 World Championship run, played in the '04 Olympics beating USA, and contributed most of their senior events the past 20ish years for DR. She is definitely a rough around the edges type of player, but will still go down a legend. #MVPris
