Poland is playing friendly matches against Bulgaria. The first match is on this Youtube (each set is a different video). They're playing right now as well (don't have a US stream)
Poland - Bulgaria 3:1 Poland: Smarzek 30, Łukasik 10, Alagierska 9, Efimienko 9, Górecka 8, Różański 8, Krajewska 2, Łazowska 1, Stenzel (L), Jagła (L) Bulgaria: Paskova 18, Milanova 14, Dimitrova E. 13, Dimitrova N. 6, Todorova M. 6, Dimitrova G. 3, Todorova Z. (L)
Germany played Belgium 3x. Germany lost matches 2 (3-1) and 3 (3-0), I don't see a result from match 1. Both teams played a mix of players. (no stats from what I can tell)
Match 2 GER: Kästner, Poll, Ambrosius, Drewniok, Orthmann, Schölzel, Bock (L), Gryka, Vanjak, Alsmeier BEL: Van de Vyver Ilka, Herbots, Sobolska, Grobelna, Van Gestel, Van Avermaet, Rampelberg (L), Janssens, Gilson, Krenicky, Stragier, De Valkeneer, Van de Vyver Jutta, Demeyer (L).
Match 3 GER: Imoudu, Janiska, Weitzel, Vanjak, Orthmann, Schölzel, Pogany (L), Kästner, Drewniok, Alsmeier BEL: Van de Vyver Ilka, Herbots, Sobolska, Guilliams, Van Gestel, Janssens, Rampelberg (L), Stragier, Van de Vyver Jutta, De Valkeneer, Lemmens, Van Avermaet, Demeyer

US can beat Brazil...right? if they try, then it's much more likely that USA beats Brazil than the other way The real question is would Karch focus on winning the vnl like previous years or would he use it to develop and examine players like most other nations' head coaches.

Usa obsession with always winning has cost them in the past. Maybe times for change in thinking

I don't understand the need for the veterans to be there for the first few weeks.

They'll be allowed to practice with the rest of the group. Krob/MBH/Hill havent been in the gym so those extra practice days will be beneficial.

Does the money play a part in why the USA fields a top roster for VNL? If any of it goes to USA volleyball, I could see them encouraging Karch to bring a team to win.

I was reading the regulations posted by some people on the other board and it seemed like the training facilities are very limited.
Anyways, all will be clear when we see the starters.

Another interesting thing about China's B team they're sending is that Lang Ping herself will be leading this squad. Normally it's their assistant while she would stay back with the A team, but this time around it's different.

Looking forward to this B team (but wish they had better receivers on the outside lol)

in 2018 the prize money was $9,000 per group stage win ($4,000 for a loss). $1 million if you win, 500k for 2nd, 300k for 3rd, 150k for 4th.
Players got prize money for being on the dream team (10k) and MVP (30k)

I would add that it's not bad policy to lose before a major competition so the players have some 'hunger' heading into the Olympics.
