Kentucky really did play better over the whole match. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened had that net call gone right, but people are right, Huskies gave up initiative before that. They looked to get some back at the beginning of the 4th, but they couldn't keep up.

Well in general....you don't post much on VT. nah, not anymore. This place kind of sucks so I barely come here except for tourney time. And sorry, I misread you there I have to agree with you with not being on the board much except for tourney time...I have done the same thing the last few years. I really do have a life outside of Division 1 college Volleyball.

there is actually no reason that you shouldn't keep your challenge if you win it well, realistically, I'm for win it/keep it, but with the quality of cameras, many times it really is a 50/50 chance based on a blurry image. That said, I'm actually also for 3 challenges per set. The goal should be to get the calls right, not have a set hinge on an obvious missed call that can't be reviewed. And esp because that's also an insanely obvious r2 call that should have their eyes glued on the net fair, but with that first challenge the four contacts was very clear. The cameras (especially in the final four) are not bad.

washington definitely had opportunities to close set 3 out even before and after the bad call, but the rule about losing challenges even when you're right doesn't make sense to me and should be changed. Why should a team be penalized when refs make mistakes?

Congrats to UK, but the refs were absolutely horrible this match and deserve to be lambasted. This level of refereeing would NEVER be tolerated in football or basketball.
Also, Kentucky's level of play imo just isn't at the same level as previous finalists in the tournament. I think they get smoked in straights by pretty much every champion of the past 20 years.

and yet not irrelevant to them losing the set Well had they called that it would have been 23-20 UW and getting the hot Kentucky server OFF the line. If you don’t see how important that botched call was, that’s on you, but it makes you seem a little ridiculous. I never said it wasn't important. I said Washington should've responded better. As for ridiculous, you're the one who seems rather invested for somebody who basically said this tournament doesn't count. But like I said, good game to the Huskies. They will be good in the fall.
