Coaches recruit the best players they can get, regardless of race. Do you really think any coach recruits for racial balance or proportionality? Do you think any coach gives the slightest thought to race at all? Yes. It’s called culture. And some coaches care more about a culture of inclusion than others. And some top talent care about what that culture looks like in those gyms. Looking around and seeing inclusion and diversity is part of the recruiting process, so yes absolutely. It’s not about proportion or balance. It’s about representation and inclusion. And in a sport that is underrepresented in its diversity, celebrating programs that value that is important. If you want to stay blind to that, go for it. The rest of us will go on knowing that these decisions aren’t made in a colorblind vacuum. Coaches care about winning. I don't think there is a coach in the country, not a successful coach anyway, who would exclude a talented minority player who can help the program win. Exactly why do you think volleyball is underrepresenting Blacks? If you are just looking at numbers, your logic must bring us to the conclusion that football and basketball have minority overrepresentation.

Do you think any coach gives the slightest thought to race at all? Just STOP! You probably think employers only hire the "most qualified." There are implicit and unconscious biases that impact how people's everyday interactions and yes, how coaches RECRUIT talent. Your commentary is uninformed and unintelligent. It is clear that you think people on this board are "obsessed" with race, when in fact people in 2021 are still penalized because of their race. People of color do NOT have the benefit of existing in spaces without people bringing up race (i.e, microaggressions). You don't get to erase someone's identity that has been weaponized against them for centuries. And you definitely do not get to dictate how people celebrate Black women that have success in a sport where they are the minority. Do you know what it means to little Black girls to see themselves represented on the biggest stage in collegiate volleyball? The fact that you are telling people not to bring race into the conversation is showing your own privilege. You are right. In 2021 people are still penalized for their race. Just ask a large number of Asian applicants to Harvard who were rejected solely because they are Asian. Would you like to guess what demographic group benefits from that policy? I'm not trying to erase anyone's identity. Erasing someone's identity and being obsessed with racial identity is not binary. There is a place in the middle where one can acknowledge skin color, but reject the idea that skin color is the sole source of a person's identity. I doubt very much that many little black girls give a damn about the biggest stage in collegiate volleyball. Those little black girls who do care are probably already playing volleyball and doing so largely because they enjoy the game -- not because they see black women playing volleyball on TV. Microaggression. LOL There is no such thing as white privilege. That is a concept that originated with and is promoted by snake oil salesmen of Marxist Critical Race Theory.

I'm not really a joiner and I don't watch cable news networks. That stuff will rot your brain. Only sheep need to be told what to think and how to behave. You think you've seen sedition. Trust me. You haven't.

You don’t think. I’m done with this conversation. Good luck to you.
