i gotta admit i really have a hard time listening to her. She’s got great insight but really would be much better in a number 2 role with a good play-by-play commentator carrying the broadcast. (Its not a woman thing either, Burcu Dal is very good in Turkish. Theres a female football commentator who did a great job in the Atletico v Man City match last week) I believe she got her first commentating gig in 2018 during the VNL finals. She was in more of that support role during that tournament. I believe she jumped into the deep end during the 2021 VNL. The pool of announcers for that tournament was.....something. She'll get there. She's a former player and 2012 Olympian from Britain. I would rather have former coaches and players commentating than some of these goofs they bring in. At least she knows the game and can offer insight. i may not be thinking of the same commentator. The one im thinking of is American, former player, who did the Imoco v Monza CL semi this year and i remember her on a couple italian games i found access to

They are the duo we all deserve during the biggest matches. I also hope rstclaire1 gets more opportunities to call some of the bigger games as well. rstclaire1 have you been asked to call any of the international matches this summer?!

I will be in Ottawa calling men's VNL, and was asked to come to Louisiana and Calgary for women's VNL but probably won't be able to make either one I prefer the men's game anyway, and I'm not exactly bummed to miss out on the embarrassment that is Shreveport-Bossier City... On the subject of CEV commentators, it's largely the same pool of people. Clayton Lucas has been coordinating all the Italian commentators all season, and a subset of us have been doing CEV, mostly Clayton, myself, Ci Michel, and Lewie Lett. I've done strictly men's for CEV this year, but I also do the CEV's YouTube live show covering all their competitions.

I hope we get that pairing for the big events in the future

I do love it when coaches come on to commentate.

Its a great perspective that maybe i identify with
