I'm thinking for '22
Orzol at Libero Demps and Wrobel at OH's Robinson RS Hart and Smrek in Middle Hammill or Ashburn at Setter
Ella Wrobel is the real deal, solid 6'4, maybe 6'5 she is probably Wisconsin's first true blue chip outside that can take over matches. Can pass, attack out of back row, and blocks extremely well.
And, Yes, Wrobel as in Jenna former great from Michigan St, that's her aunt.
here is a video:

Not sure Orzol has passed well enough to be a libero, though. Anyway, hopefully Wrobel is "the real deal," so Sheff has some tough decisions to make.

I wouldn't bet much on Orzol to libero. I don't think Boyer is the answer. I haven't heard anyone with a good read on Reed's potential. Seems like a transfer small is a given every year.
With Hart coming back, I've been in the Smrek to middle and Devyn on right camp. Smrek doesn't swing well enough on the right.
Pretty good options and potential on the outside. I'd love to see what Jardine can do. She seems like a diamond in the rough.
All that said, I'm still mostly interested in what they do this year yet.

Reed wouldn't be blackshirted for the tourney if she was going to contribute. We have at lewdt 2 other ds's in front of her. Thinking transfers.

IMHO, I think Orzol has the court awareness, attitude, and vb iq to be a Libero for her country in the future.... She's far too small for the pins... If she just concentrated on jump serving and balancing the passing I think she's the ideal athlete for this.

Bucky has four matches left :-) I also think we may get Monson from Notre Dame to work the back row :-)

Liberos do serve in college... she has 3 years left.... once on the Polish National team... as of right now, no. Can a libero serve in an NCAA Tournament? Serving: With the exception of the FIVB tournaments, the libero can now serve in all USAV and NCAA sanctioned events. This is a departure from the rules in previous years when the libero could only enter the game after the player they were subbing in for had rotated out of the serving position. Can a libero serve in high school or college? Yes and No. No, the international rules for the libero do not allow them to serve. Yes, the libero can serve in one rotation position in college, high school, middle school, and club levels all throughout the USA. After serving in that position, they can only serve in that same position for the rest of the game. Can a libero serve after replacing a player? b. In one rotation, a Libero may serve after replacing the player in position 1. USAV 19.3.2.1: In one rotation, a Libero can replace the player in position 1 and serve the next rally, even if s/he is already on the court in replacement of another player. After serving in that position, they can only serve in that same position for the rest of the game. Can a libero serve with both middles? A libero may serve in one rotation. Let’s say your libero is switching with both middles… The first middle to rotate back to serve might stay and serve if they have a stronger serve and are decent in the back row. The second middle, if strong enough, can serve as well.

You got that wrong. Just say "oops" and move on.

I also think we may get Monson from Notre Dame to work the back row :-) That'd be cool. She's following a bunch of the Badgers on Insta.

Orzol will not be libero. Boyer will compete with at least one player not yet on the roster.

Wouldn't it be better to use her as a DS as Kenzie Knuckles is doing for Nebraska now, and let her hit out of the back row, too?

She is a phenomenal young talent and better than most pin hitters in D1 right now. You can tell just by how opposing teams game plan for her. So I personally don’t get the thought of moving her off the pin/oof rotation. As for an experienced L/DS transfer coming in to compete for the bero slot next season, I’d bet on it. Barnes and Gio exiting, leaves too big of a hole in the back-row for us.

Orzol will not be libero. Boyer will compete with at least one player not yet on the roster. Yes, that would be a ridiculous idea. KPS isnt going to put a player on a position which serves as a training role for a position in the future. He will put players where he needs them for the Badgers.
