WisconsinVB has always drawn excellent Midwest talent. Coach Waite had the cupboard full despite the inability to motivate his last few years. I don’t know if any spirt in Madison that should ever struggle with recruiting. And yet, Coach Kelsey and Coach Tsipis both had trouble keeping local talent at home. I don’t think there were very good relationships established with in-state high schools, so that makes it hard when you’ve got a down and out program. As backwards as this might be, I almost wonder if it would be a boost to the team to move BB back to the Field House? A smaller, intimate environment might make it feel like a fuller house compared to the exact same number of fans at the KC.

I can see the reasoning for that on "game day" but it would complicate the WBB team's life (as well as the VB team) in terms of practice facility and court time, training facilities, locker rooms, etc.

It was a better atmosphere. However, in addition to what was mentioned above, there may be some Title 9 issues. I could be very very wrong as whky plays in a comically small arena that was really built as a practice facility.

A) when i came here wbb played at the field house and they made it work...different times I know. B) Kelsey really never tried to recruit in wisconsin that hard, Tsipis did. C) getting back to volleyball from this years team, I just would like to call out Boyer. Unsung, but helped to hold the back row together when Civita was too injured to play. Really important that the team was able to push through, win the B1G, and get a top four seed. Largely forgotten as playing time disappeared after Gio returned, but an imoortant part of the championship. D) still numb after that whirlwind trip to Columbus and back last weekend...so glad i was there.

Hockey at L aBahn is great compared to the KC for the women. 1500 to 2000 in the KC feels very different than 1500 to 2000 in L aBahn. Women's hockey is quite happy to be playing in La Bahn. But unlike what BB would be at the Field House, the women hockey have their locker rooms and training rooms already at LaBahn.

But they should have built it for about 4,000.

And if they had gone to the east of the KC - lot 90 something - it wouldn't have the share-able locker room space with the SERF, now the Nick or however they spell it. It's the best they could manage for the space and money available.
