YOU GUYS WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING Lilley played one of the best matches of a setter that I can remember. She took Butler out of sets 2, 3, and a good portion of set 4 and put her hitters in so many favorable hitting situations. Also Stumler was set up to feast on Gabriel all night and had a career match in the biggest match of her life to date. Bottom line is they got it 100% correct awarding Lilley MOP of the NCAA Championships. Did you watch how much she actually had to move? Talk about amazing passing. 90% of the time it was spot on.

Congrats to Kentucky!!! Great run Texas!! (much respect to your team and Coach Elliot)
Stumler said in the press conf.-- "We got off the plane in Omaha, and we all said "we're gonna win this thing and never had a moment of doubt." I want to repeat --"AND NEVER HAD A MOMENT Of DOUBT." They didn't think or label the other teams on strengths or weaknesses, good or bad, they just knew they would win. This is what being present is. When people can truly be present in the moment and have no other distractions, it is pure and unstoppable confidence.**
**Read Eckhart Tolle
So congrats to Kentucky for their conscious minds and unflappable mindset.

Just wanted to mention this as it didn’t get talked about a lot. I’ve never seen Lilley fake approach to hit some of those tight passes to draw the Texas block just for her to set someone instead. Maybe it was in the game plan? Maybe it was just in the moment of a few times but the Texas block already couldn’t read her but having her do that REALLY threw them off.

I hadn’t seen her do that before either and thought, “there’s no way she’s hitting that, she never does that” lol but it got ‘em good! My guess is that it was Lilley being in a groove and just understanding the game at a high level

Kentucky was certainly no fluke. They were the #4 team going into this year per black ink and better than Texas. Here were their starters going into the year:
Lilley, Madison - 17.5 Stumler, Alli - 9 Curry, Gabby - 8 Skinner, Madisen - 7.5 Tealer, Azhani - 5 Goetzinger, Elise - 4.5 Skinner, Avery - 4.5
