Great match, very fun to watch. (hopefully next year ESPN won't start with 5 minutes of fight news).
Texas hit .333 and didn't win the match, almost seems impossible. Kentucky hit .349! That is just unbelievable for a D1 final. Has to be a record setting standard that will not be touched for a long long time.

I ended up turning the channel for a while.

Congratulations to both teams. Kentucky played almost a perfect volleyball. What a great story! Happy for the team, coaches etc.

I rewatched the entire match last night over a new bottle of wine. 2 AM was messy.
I'm still largely speechless. Of course, it's nice to be validated when over the last 4-5 years, as a rare fan of this program, you think "wow, this team looks elite" and 95% of this board tells you "well, they only look elite because of the SEC." I hope this NC gives UK the respect it deserves on this board, but also, results speak for themselves, so when the inevitable haters emerge, at this point, it's kind of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Mostly, I'm really proud of these athletes and Coach Skinner. Lilley rightfully deserves so much praise, but Stumler's growth over the last 3 years, has been sensational. She used to struggle against bigger blocks and more physical teams, but she shined tonight against one of the biggest and most physical teams in the nation. She's special. M. Skinner is going to be a difference maker the next 3 years, and Goetz had some huge moments, as the most invisible player on the team.
I don't want to say I CALLED IT (stupid), but floor defense was a difference maker in this match (shoutout to Anders). UK in system is near impossible to slow down because blocks just can't keep up, and even when Texas was in-system, our back row had some key defensive plays, whereas Texas just wasn't able to make those same plays. That being said, Molly and Skylar had big matches, and are top notch athletes. I have so much respect for Logan -- you can tell she's a class act, especially after watching the post-game press conference.
I think we saw the two best teams in the country on the floor last night, and it was all-around exceptional volleyball. Great for the sport, great for parity, and I think given everything that happened in 2020, every team that showed up and competed hard in the tournament (and there were so many), should be immensely proud of themselves. The 2020 NCAA Volleyball Tournament did not disappoint.

Someone posted about Sydney Hilley starting over Lilley back when they were playing for the USA Youth Team. And this somehow challenged Lilley.
Same can be said with Tiffany Clark (Wisconsin libero) starting for the USA Youth team back in the day over... Morgan Hentz, who was the DS on that team.

But I imagine the combination of the two teams has to be the highest. ?? 2004 Stanford hit .436 vs Minnesota .270 2004 Championship statsIn 2004, Stanford and Minnesota had a combined line of 113-31-236 for .347. Last night, Texas and Kentucky had a combined line of 131-31-293 for .341. That's pretty close, and Texas actually took a set off Kentucky, whereas Minnesota got swept relatively handily. Edit: Nnamani had a line of 29-2-48 (.562). Wow! I hadn't really discovered volleyball at this point of my life yet.

Is Texas trying to become the Washington Generals of Buffalo Bills? Hmm, Texas seems more like the 1990s Atlanta Braves.
