The only reason I think it is a slight possibility is the in an interview a few weeks ago, John Cook was talking about the 2011 season and how he thought the Huskers fought so hard for the conference championship and a #2 seed that they were spent when the tournament started. That is the year the Huskers were knocked out of the tournament in the second round by K-State. Still one of the weirdest matches I've ever attended. That team had zero pep. It really was bizarre. Kind of a Twilight Zone vibe. Very similar to the Ohio St loss during the regular season the next year, as I remember it.

BREAKING: Purdue lends entire starting lineup to Nebraska for Friday match in Madison 😅 The Cornhuskers don't even need Otec, Newton, Bush, or Johnson. I think Cook is going to plan really well for this one... and forget he has Purdue on Saturday!

4:30 p.m. Friday in the Field House in Madison - B!G title gets decided. Come on Huskers, we’re waiting. Assuming that Wisconsin and Purdue both will beat Indiana… NEB beats WI + NEB beats PUR = NEB wins at 17-3 NEB beats WI + PUR beats NEB = 3 way tie (NEB, WI, PUR) at 16-4 WI beats NEB + NEB beats PUR = WI wins at 17-3 WI beats NEB + PUR beats NEB = WI wins at 17-3 So the title is only decided for sure if Wisconsin beats Nebraska, then they win outright. If Nebraska wins… then the Nebraska-Purdue match decides it.

That match could be a B1G Championship game - NCAA Tourney approaching or not, I have a hard time believing Cook would hand it over without a fight. Winning the Big Ten is a far greater accomplishment than getting hot in a six-match tournament. Are you _____________ ? fill in your favorite perjorative in no particular order Pitt Louisville Baylor BYU Texas Kentucky and any number of B1G teams who could run the table Purdue? getting hot and in peak form With so many teams having so much depth the NCAA tourney is going to be a great challenge for any team to 6 matches. Winning the B1G this year is like who is the last woman standing after everyone has been knocked around.

Winning the B1G this year is like who is the last woman standing after everyone has been knocked around. You're answering your own question by naming teams from five different conferences. There are teams of that caliber IN THE BIG TEN EVERY YEAR. Think about what you're saying here. To win the NCAA as a top seed you're going to play two weak teams in the first two rounds, a decent/good team in the Sweet 16, and two or three good/great teams in the final three rounds. Three of those matches should be pretty easy for a top team. You have to be a top team to win the Big Ten, which perennially has six or seven teams in the top 20, if not the top 15. That's FAR more difficult than playing three top teams in the final three rounds. This isn't even a controversial take. Don't get in a twist. Just look at the rankings (VT's & the AVCA).

I happen to think that beating the top-ranked teams in the country in the national semifinal and final is a greater accomplishment, but your point is well taken.
Keep it cordial please. If I disagree doesn't that make it controversial? I am surely not the only VB fan who thinks the NCAA tourney identifies great accomplishment.
If you think winning the B1G is a greater accomplishment that's ok too.
Let me ask you:
If NEB can beat WI and Purdue finishes the last 2 months undefeated do you think Purdue should get a top 4 seed?
