Just saw Chang is on the VB Transfer Instagram (I’m clueless about how to post it here!). Do you guys think Sealy should have played her against W? As much as I'd want that, it was probably too late. The Badgers had UCLA's number before the first serve. Against USC? Maybe Fairfield? I would've loved for her to get a look. It really sucks her injury happened when it did, but hoping she pulls a Kylie Miller and finds a team where she gets to shine and prove herself.

I'm curious if Hadrych is going to spend her last year at Westwood.
As of now, you have Luper, McCall, and Jacobs all returning at OH. You have Canady and Sonnhalter waiting on the bench. The #34 and #69 Senior Aces in Leverette and Olson coming in. Then you have Ndiaye at OPP with multiple players who can pass able to slot into that role.
Does Lexi find a spot if UCLA runs another 6-2? Does she find a way to beat out the others at OPP? Or does she move on?

How many available scholies does UCLA have for next year? By my count, they have 8 retuning scholarship players, and 3 incoming recruits. So, if no one leaves, they should have one scholarship available for a transfer.

Do you guys think Jacobs could ever be converted to a libero? OK, this is my soapbox issue of the moment. STOP CONVERTING NON-LIBEROS TO LIBERO! Libero is not a consolation prize for sucking at OH or OPP. Libero is an actual position, a critical one, that has its own very defined requirements. "Maybe we can stick her at libero" is one of the most damaging things that can be done to a team. Look at Team USA. Courtney sucked at "lets try her at libero". Robinson sucked at "lets try her at libero". It wasn't until a player with actual libero skills, Wong-Orantes, won the job that the USA team started to hit on all cylinders. The Gold medal is the proof. To answer your specific question, absolutely not. Reaction time isn't there (can't coach that either) Floor leadership isn't there (probably can't coach that). Passing accuracy isn't there (can coach that but only to the degree that superlative hand/eye is already there).

Who is the next transfer setter to come to UCLA? Why not try and attract a top HS setter?

Although, I think McCall as Libero in middle back is a better option than Jacobs with the current roster.

UCLA has two more OH coming in next year, right? Leverette and Olson. Alot of pin hitters to compete with. Plus the two R-FR who still havent played much, or at all really. Wonder who will start behind Luper and McCall if one is not able to play. This year it was Jacobs. Who would it be next year in that situation?

Or are they going to try and stopgap L with a walk-on? And they might need a middle too. Both starters are returning, but both have injury histories.

I said it in another post. I think it's interesting that she is leaving. She's either unhappy or she doesn't think she will start next year. With May gone and McCall possibly playing libero if UCLA doesn't pick someone, Jacobs has a pretty good chance to start along with Luper.

Will be interesting to see who else steps in for that OH spot.

Not sure they have solid enough options on the roster currently.
