Cheers to the Wildcats, Vols, and Gators on their wins, and cheers to MSU for putting up such a good fight against a talented Hawai'i team! Tough luck for the Gamecocks who had to play an inspired WKU squad. I will miss seeing the SC seniors (Robinson, Manning, and Dixon) giving it their best on the court -- they were really fun to watch these past several years. I'm not sure who all is leaving MSU, but I know that Dean and Kemp are done - wish them well! And if any of the other seniors are done or moving on, they should be incredibly proud of what they did this season in Starkville. Salute! Yeah, it is hard to go from also ran to second in the league, winning in a place where the program had literally never won in 52 tries, and being a tournament team that went out in five sets. Heck of a legacy for them!

Tennessee over Ohio State? I don’t know why but I’m feeling a tournament run for the Vols I don't see it. If they record 4 blocks per set in another NCAA match, they deserve to win, but I don't think so. Plus, Murr.

Look for UK to advance today. Hopefully UT as well. Obviously the Vols have the tougher task. When did Laborda take over at libero? Maddie Bryant had 20 digs against Mizzou. Is Bryant injured?
As for State, playing Hawaii in Seattle was a tough draw for a team that went 16-2 in conference. Unfortunately, the Jackson St's and ULM's on their OOC schedule prevented them from getting a seed. There needs to be a emphasis conference wide on better OOC scheduling.

Bummed about Tennessee - they really looked like they had chances there late in a couple of the sets they lost, but kudos to OSU for just being more solid and consistent.
Pretty surprised by the poor performance from Kentucky, especially at home. But I still think the future is pretty bright for the Wildcats.
And the Gators are, once again, the last team standing for the conference. Go Gators! Tall order against the Cardinals, but … that’s why they lace them up and play them.
In NIVC news, Hogs clobber SFA on the road and await news of where they’ll be playing UNLV, a 5-set winner over Arizona.

Just announced - Hogs will travel to El Paso, where both of the quarter- and semi-final round games on their half of the draw will be played.
12/7 Hogs vs. UNLV UTEP vs. Weber State

I hope I'm right. I thought Az would be their biggest threat but they are out so I think the Hogs have a good chance. Shocked Kentucky lost. Was hoping Tenn would pull it out but their ball control at times and inability to cover a tip/roll shot/off speed was their downfall. So I guess it's now Go Gators 🐊 Will be interesting to see which Tenn players take their covid year. Specificially Felts.

Runnels, I believe, is the only one who doesn't have eligibility left.

I hope Tennessee is good next year and the one after that and the one after that....a rising tide lifts all boats. As far as "super seniors" in general, my feelings are mixed. I'm glad South Carolina won't have any next season. I would prefer to develop our younger players. Kentucky did it right, I believe. If the Wildcats super seniors had stayed, they **may** have repeated as national champs, but they would have sacrificed the development of Grome, Beavin and the younger Skinner. They may have even lost some young players to the portal. Though this season ended in a disappointing fashion, the Wildcats are set for a bright future.

Lauren Tharp was never honored with any SEC or post season awards and somewhat understandably so because she was just a DE but man what a solid force in the back row for us these 4 years. Just an absolute stud for us. I hope she knows the impact she had on this program.

I don't like it either because it messes with recruiting and development. But it is the reality. And if Tennessee does bring back some Covid seniors, it will make them very tough next year. They also have some great recruits coming in as well as in the current freshman class.
