According to the Kentucky thread A Skinner is now a Baylor Bear. Baylor's passing just made a sharp turn skyward! The same Avery Skinner that got into ball control trouble and DS’d at times this past season? Not so sure about that. Skinner was a very solid passer this year. She had rough patches, and due to Kentucky’s reliance on in-system ball, she was subbed out very infrequently, but she’s definitely a passing upgrade for Baylor.

Lol what if Avery takes Baylor all the way to the finals. That would be epic and honestly, they have most of the pieces to do it. Lockin (can't recall her married name) needs to put in work this summer.

Yeah I would say the worst passer on the best passing team in the country is still a pretty good passer. She likely won't even be the serve target most of the time at Baylor.

The conversation around Baylor’s serve receive is intriguing to me. The implication seems to be that it was bad, but their VolleyMetrics numbers are very good. I didn’t see them play at all this year. Where is the disconnect coming from?

Her biggest weakness, IMO, is hitting OOS. Which could be an issue with Baylor's other passers and their setting.

Adding Skinner solves their RS problem as I think Pressley easily slots in over there (she hit from D quite often this year). Her ball control certainly won’t hurt and overall I agree helps, but I don’t think it *skyrockets* their level as if they were that bad and Skinner’s so elite to take it to a new level.

They should try to consolidate the twelve biggest trash talkers in the game all onto one roster, and just sorta make that their thing from now on.

I just hope that Baylor won't run a 6-2 for this upcoming season.

Skinner to Baylor is a major downgrade. She could play for any team in the country. She could have gone to PSU.

Well, one would suspect that, after 4+ years devotion to one program, winning another national championship in volleyball isn't that high of a priority. I mean, she's going to grad school....she's not some impressionable 14 year old that these programs try to bullsh*t with delusions of grandeur.

Choosing Baylor can only be about location and/or "everything else" that goes with being at Baylor.
Unless she's planning to study the early history of the Baptists, I seriously doubt Baylor possesses a single graduate or professional program that is unquestionably better than what any other major vball program's school could offer.
No judgement in that decision. Just setting the record straight, there.
