Okay! Here are some observations- Elephant in the room: Forte had a small cast on the right hand and Hall had some taping on her leg. Hall warmed up (no hitting lines), and I didn't get the feeling that either will be out long, if at all (maybe Forte a bit longer). Why risk anything in a scrimmage, though?
- Marlie set in a 5-1 in all three sets. No surprise here
- Beason played RS in set 1, Essix in set 2, Hendrickson in set 3.
- Only 1 DS (Trinity Adams) on the roster behind McKissock and she actually set one of the teams in set 3
- The middles all shuffled a ton. My guess would be that Okammor is third on the depth chart behind Dooley and Forte
- Of the OHs, outside of Hall and Ceasar, my money is on Beason to be the first one in, if she's not playing RS. If she's playing RS, Victoria will be the next OH in the lineup (which I guess makes sense since there's only 4 on the roster lol)
Beason looked great everywhere. I'd wager that she'll be the first of the newcomers in. I'd also wager that she'll be our starting RS unless Hall/Ceasar are out at all.
Essix and Kelley looked okay. Kelley is very athletic! Bright future for her, I think. Essix was working hard and was very engaged, but was in the way at times. Particularly when she was playing RS, definitely looked a little out of her element there. But she had some great defensive plays and was really working hard!
I will hold to my claim that Mckissock will be the SEC LOY by the end of the season. She's so good.
Marlie looked comfortable. Nothing really out of the ordinary here. Birdie won't be taking court-time from her. Speaking of Birdie, I enjoyed her at RS. She had some big swings! Wouldn't mind seeing her starting there, but it also wouldn't make a toooon of sense to have your only other setter on the roster playing. idk. That's all for now, folks! edit: I realized that I didn't say anything about Dooley. I don't really have any thoughts! Wasn't paying much attention to her tbh

Pre season serve receive was spotty as it often is. In set 3 , the new thing was that after giving up a big lead, Birdie had a huge servide run and both she and Merritt were deadly thereafter. Congrats Birdie and Beas! We will be solid soon and need some growing up fast!

Observations: Merrit plays somewhere, likely RS, and Birdie backs her up. Bre will play. She's too explosive to leave on the bench. Her vertical is special. Wouldn't be at all surprised that she winds up the second middle behind Forte. With 5 middles on the roster there will be some serious disappointment in playing time. Gabrielle reminds me too much of Darielle. I think Okammor will not be happy with her playing time. Dooley is Dooley. A sometimes big blocker, sometimes late. Birdie will find playing time. If Thayer and T'ara are healthy, Sofia may not find much playing time. It will be a fun team to follow.. They could go places, like FF.
