for me Thomas should go to the transfer portal. She is not the middle Florida need. she will be similar than Danielle King, but less talented for my opinion. If florida has the chance to bring Mendelson I wont think it twice. She coud be an extraordinary addition to the team for sure

Is there a scholarship available for any of the transfers?
Five players are out with Fitzpatrick returning: Muff and Dixon have exhausted eligibility. McKissock and Victoria each have one season of eligibility (have either announced their intent?). Oakammor is in the portal but theoretically could return. With the number of players announced I would imagine most of those outgoing scholarships are being used by the incoming class of 2024.
Is Thomas on athletic aid, academic aid, both, or neither? If on athletic money, then her entering the portal could open up a scholarship for a transfer, but if she is only on academic aid or if she paying her own way then her entering the portal does not help free up athletic funds.
I know in this day and age of NIL potential that academics may be taking a back seat in college athletics, but is pleasant to think that many of the current Gators are at school for their degree.

Fitz is staying but I wonder if she's on schollie. Florida in state tuition is so cheap, so I can see her virtually paying nothing without a scholarship anyways - especially if she had Florida prepaid or Bright Futures from her time in FL

Im just hoping MW and the staff rotate all players and give them some playing time, specially the OH, MB and RS. I will hate seen very good players just leaving Florida due to lack of playing time

In my opinion, if Florida wants to compete and go deep in the tournament next season, they shall go after Maggie Mendelson and one graduate setter. They shall not take any risk like this season with an unexperienced setter in case Stucky is not 100% recuperated at the beginning of the season. Stucky injury was very serious and I dont want them to bring her too early that could affect her career later on, or Florida having a top setter for a few more years. Having a middle/RS like Mendelson is a luxury and having an experience setter is a very good option too. In the portal is a few very good setters, like the one from Georgia Tech and Argentina Ung from Washington State. What you guys think? Texas, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Stanford arre coming hard and very well prepared

Texas is coming very well prepared. They improved their RS with Reagen Rutherford from Kentucky, and the other young lady from Nebraska. They just need a good middle and they are set to fight for their third consecutive championship

She was quite experienced at the level she came from and played quite well for Florida when thrown into the ring. Yeah, it would be great to have a proven effective division 1 backup, but just saying.

idk if it has been mentioned but Mary and Maggie is following each other. it looks like maggie followed a bunch of coaches when she entered the portal. i would say the more eyebrow-raising evidence is that she is also following wbk coach kelly rae finley. not sure if maggie is interested in continuing her basketball career but her size would be great for the gators!

Florida wbk could always use all the help they can get. She follows both team insta accounts too. At 6'5, she would've been be the 2nd tallest player on both the VB and BB teams this year. If she can get a basketball scholly, this would be a great pickup.
