20? Baylor (17) and Minnesota (16) should not be ranked ahead of the Gators. Poll inertia at its finest. Florida's schedule in preseason was extra light this year. They played Kentucky and Texas early in the SEC portion of the schedule and several preseason SEC ranked or receiving vote teams did not look so good anymore by the time Florida played them. Not to mention the absolute horrendous losses to USF and South Carolina (Florida would be 21-3 on the season and tied with Kentucky for 1st place in SEC and for sure ranked higher than GT and Minnesota). What could have been. The team is looking pretty good though right now so looking forward to seeing how things shake out.

15 digs today vs Alabama. 1,994 career digs. She will get the 6 needed to hit the 2,000 milestone in the huge matchup @ Missouri on Friday. 144 from tying school record. 24 digs tonight vs Mizzou and quite a few that were jaw dropping. TWO THOUSAND CAREER DIGS. 2,018 actually. 120 from tying the school record with at least 5 matches to go. Maybe she can do it. Career high 31 digs tonight vs Auburn, including 14 in the 1st set. 2,049 career digs. 89 from tying the school record. If Florida can make it to the Round of 32, McKissock would need to average 18 digs / match to set a new school record. What seemed unlikely 3 weeks ago seems very plausible.

The 2025 transfer portal tea thread is not for the faint of heart gators fan right now🫣 All gator fans, can sit around, wringing their hands and worrying about the future or be inspirational and fired up and think about what the possibilities could be. You and me and everybody else out there posting thoughts, is not going to end up dictating what does or doesn’t happen with the Florida roster. I’m not sure that there’s another program’s followers or detractors in the country that has, seemingly, as much angst about their talent. I could be wrong, but what is it about the Florida Gators and the talent that is on the roster, that causes everyone to worry?! Has there really been this floodgate concern about people having left the program that justifies the fear that seemingly exists? I’d advocate the people celebrate the team as they are right now, get fired up about the prospects and possibilities, and have a growth mindset that suggests that Florida can encourage other players with remaining eligibility to come and play with these talented players and not fearful about the prospects of somebody leaving. What an unbelievable blessing to have such two talented setters. What an unbelievable blessing to have arguably the best opposite in the country, if not the best overall player! Lean into the upside and look through the windshield, and not have a fear of failure mindset.

Martin is such a treat for Florida. I hope she stays. If she really does transfer to Nebraska as people are suspecting, I don't think she'll be as much of an individual star given that team's reliance on balance. At Florida, she really gets to be a star

Martin 29-4-49 hit 0.510 against UCF. She really is making a push for NPOY with these numbers

Mary is going to liquidate all of her assets to come up with an offer for Martin to not leave lol

Mary is going to liquidate all of her assets to come up with an offer for Martin to not leave lol Do you comedians say this about any other player playing for any other coach or school? What, because Bre Kelley is at Pitt and Beason chose Nebraska, all of a sudden Florida is perceived to be the place that great talent starts at but doesn't finish? Bah humbug. Show me one thread where people are speculating about who is leaving Dan Fischer's program. What about the Second Coming in Lincoln? He's had PLENTY of birds leave the nest, and yet, do you hammer/speculate that Big Red is EVER going to lose their top tier kids? The criticism and speculation of Mary Wise and the Florida program is unfounded and unfair. I so want the Gators to turn the tables on all of this chatter and get players with eligibility to transfer TO Florida and join the incredible group of young women representing UF.

Mary is going to liquidate all of her assets to come up with an offer for Martin to not leave lol Seems she would be playing Stuckey instead of Parks if she was worried about losing her like they’re saying in the tea. Maybe Mary knows Stuckey is looking around so isnt playing her because of that. If anyone knows how to lose good players it’s Mary Wise. Parks has improved tremendously since HS and can set Martin but she struggles with typical height sets and everywhere else on the court. If I were Mary I would stick to my bread and butter to keep Stuckey happy and let Parks go find a mid major next year where she can excel

It was a joke in reference to speculation about Martin transferring coinciding with a stretch of matches where she's decided to have like 30 kills and hit .500. If Martin doesn't feel inclined to leave, she won't leave. Also, Florida HAS had transfers in so idk what you even mean by that lol. You literally had a one of the current best outside hitters in the world on your team in 2022 as a transfer.

If I were Mary I would stick to my bread and butter to keep Stuckey happy and let Parks go find a mid major next year where she can excel It's comical how people seem to completely forget the severity of the injuries Stucky sustained and how it takes *well* over a year to come back physically, and who knows how long mentally (see: Poutler). I think Mary is being wise (no pun) to take advantage of a star freshman and thoughtfully work Stucky back in. Objectively Stucky is not back to where she was in the fall of '23 before she went down. Her set consistency is up and down, and she doesn't have the lateral agility that she did (See: Poulter Tokyo vs Paris). Will she get back? I'm sure. Is it ridiculous to expect this much of an athlete this quickly, and then assume she'll just transfer? FOR SURE. The tea thread is pure trash and is just a bunch of people wishful thinking at this point. Penn State is #3 or #4 this year with two Nebraska transfers starting. No one freaks out. But Beason and Kelley left and apparently Florida is a train wreck. (And note re: train wreck and life post-Beason/Kelley, Florida was 8-0, ranked #3, and en route to beating #1 when Stucky went down, then had a slew of unfortunate season-ending injuries that you wouldn't wish on any program).

I do appreciate you mentioning Marina Markova, the Syracuse transfer who shined in her one and only season in the sunshine state. The Gators are looking for the next two Marina Markova’s who want to come and win the program’s first championship alongside Kennedy Martin, Stucky, Parks, Auguste, Rothe, Essix, etc.
