Every Sunday you would just message me your picks for offensive, defensive, setter and freshman of the week for the WCC. Simple as that Ok great! Hopefully you'll post the results of our votes here I'll try to join in next week! It's a separate thread that is posted by vballfan179 each week. Here is this week's thread:
And during the week a thread to post nominations/suggestions for the week. This was last week's thread:

Rachel Ahrens - National Player of the Week According to the announcement, Ahrens is the first Pepperdine player to win NPOW. I'm not sure if the award was around during Kim Hill's tenure.

Thanks for asking. I'm sick so I wasn't planning on doing any this week. Thanks for making them and for the schedules you post to this thread.

How long has Hifo been serving for Koerber? Following up on this, I think initially they had Hifo serve for Koerber because she tweaked an ankle in the San Francisco match, but I'm not sure that's why they continued to have someone else serve for her in the following matches. Hifo and McComber are both very good servers, so they may have decided it just makes sense at this point. And maybe they are also trying to minimize Koerber's playing time whenever possible.
Koerber has missed more serves than any other starter (.872 percentage). Taylen Ballard-Nixon is close to that at .877, but she has also served 29 aces, while Koerber has only served 12. McComber has a .950 percentage and just two fewer aces than Koerber, even though Koerber has 106 more service attempts.
Yea...but Koerber was one of the best servers in the Pac-12 last year. I wonder if BYU is doing something with her serve. Not having Koerber serve makes little sense IMO. Also, I disagree that McComber is a good server. Plus, Koerber is much more athletic than McComber (even at her height) and a much better overal defensive player with offensive potential. This adjustment is just wierd IMO. I didn't watch the last two matches because of who BYU was playing (taking a stand on principle), but someone mentioned that Dayton is also playing more back row...I swear I am living in groundhog day with BYU's defensive systems...is BYU going to start running a modified defense again to hide their DS? I have never seen a team rely so much on a setter for backrow defense as BYU relies on Bower. IDK, maybe BYU is looking a stats and deciding to go all "men's game" on the side out. Just seems odd, especially going into matches against Pep and LMU (matches that I will actually watch). I am sure someone on this board will throw out numbers and stats to support the counter argument--but I don't buy it (especially since we are dealing with stats against WCC opponents that are IMO worth much less).

I don't know why Koerber hasn't been an effective server, but I think the stats show pretty clearly that she's at best the seventh-best server on the team. If the coaches thought she was one of the more effective servers, then she would be serving. And she was for most of the year, but now McComber has taken that role. In theory, Koerber should be even more effective against the WCC than the Pac-12 (as seen from her hitting percentage), but she hasn't been.
