idk which Hawaii forum to post on but if anyone has looked at Kupono Fey's ig recently, it says "Former Professional Volleyball Player" sucks to know that he's basically retired from playing pro.

Yeah, I noticed he wasn't playing the last couple of seasons. Jennings Franciskovic's IG page also says the same. I thought Jennings was supposed to go to another team this past season, but he never made it overseas. I think some countries were restricting Americans from entering due to covid. Sad.

Sad. kupono just finished his season earlier this year in greece and jennings been retired for almost a whole year now. I know Jennings retired cause he kept getting injured but idk why Kupono retired. either way, sad to see our star bows call it quits this young.

Kupono is now a project engineer so that is one reason why he is no longer playing volleyball. He is putting his UH Civil Engineering degree to work. Good for Kupono.
Both Pat Gasman and Kupono are project engineers for their respective companies. Great to see both have landed great careers already.

However, Gasman will be having a pro volleyball career playing for Taubate in Brazil. Maybe this should have a separate thread instead of Hawaii 2022.

Maybe I missed it, but has anyone reported that Kyler Presho is grad transferring from Stanford to Hawaii. Last paragraph of this L.A. Times story: www.latimes.com/sports/olympics/story/2021-06-06/impact-pac-12-stanford-cut-sports"Misty Hartung’s son, Presho, has the option of an extra year like all NCAA athletes who competed during the pandemic. Even though he can now use that year in Palo Alto thanks to Stanford’s reversal, he has decided to spend it playing for Hawaii."

Max/Presho have similar games. Going to be interesting to see who starts the season. My guess, they both will share equal playing for most of the season.

I think we all figured Presho would be one of the grad transfers when Wade mentioned it, but great to see this confirmed . He'll definitely add depth to the middle position and brings a lot of experience and energy to the court. Also, always great to welcome sons and daughters of former UH players to the Warrior/Wahine teams.

Good to have another MB to push & compete with the others to play their best. I wonder what his jersey number will be. 15? 17? Side note, the article says Misty was told in July 2021 the news of Stanford cutting MVB. Should be July 2020.

I’m surprised there’s no Semi-Pro men’s Volleyball team in Hawaii competing in the NVA or other leagues. Seems like the perfect sport to have as your local pro-team as far as fan base. Just need an investor and some local guys who are willing to do it on the side of their full time job.
