Lol funny clip. Libero is easiest because you can play it 😆. I am so looking forward to attending matches again at the Stanley.

Thelle is the starting setter. He is a lefty with a gnarly serve, he can hit on two and stands at 6' 6". With his championship match experience, no one is going to unseat him. Is this confirmed or just speculations? Nothing is 100% guaranteed, but Thelle was the starter the entire 2021 season and truly had a breakout setting performance when it mattered - the NCAA Tournament. I don't think anyone listed will unseat him. It's his position to lose.

What a place to bond as a team, beautiful place. I knew someone with a vacation home there…complete with a slip and tender garage for his yacht. Cole and Logan have the Shaka sign down pat, gotta teach it to their bros.

I wish the rumor transfers (those players haven't post anything in their social media yet) are not true. Some of these players waited two years to be in the line up and even more to play. 6 graduated and only 3 additions, this should be a plus for the people waiting to have their moment.

I see it as, if you want to be the best, you have to play the best. And if you have been in the system already you have the advantage so you should beat out any newcomer be it a transfer or a freshman. Of course, the reality is, some players are at a certain level no matter how long you are in any system and other players possess skills beyond anything anyone else can match.

Really sad when Siki retired from Volleyball
this is from 2011, my favorites in 1 article
In a repeat of 2009’s final in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, which saw France clinch a straight set win, “les bleus†took an early lead in the first set before being reeled back in by the Serbians. But the French powered through as captain Trevor Clevenot carried his side to set point before teammate Soané Falafala closed it out for the defending champions.
The second set was a much closer affair as the two sides traded points up until 20-20. But Serbian superstar Uros Kovacevic concluded a never-ending rally with a magnificent tip in the middle of the French side of the court to give Serbia a two-point lead at 23-21 before Sinisa Zarkovic and Luka Medic helped bring the scores level at 1-1.
Both teams continued to battle fiercely into the third set but Serbia utilized a short moment of disorientation from the French to stretch their two-point lead at the second technical timeout to 21-16. Zarkovic hammered down to give Serbia a first set ball at 24-17, before French Thibault Rossard sent the ball out of bounds to offer the young Serbian side a well-deserved 2-1 lead.

There are advantages for transferees. More experience. Players check the probability of them playing when they choose schools. Unfortunately, they know the other recruits in their class but not the potential transferees. Nusterer for example. The incoming rookie middle. He chose Hawaii because theres not much competition in his position. And then comes transferee? Getting transferees and not prioritizing the recruits will only hurt hawaii in the long run.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he stayed at Stanford. UH coach Charlie Wade has made it clear that there is no money available for anyone else. The team is loaded with plenty of young players and with the extra year granted by the NCAA due to Covid, it will be hard to find any financial aid to offer anyone else. There were 12 RS/true freshmen and 4 sophomores on last season’s roster. Almost all except Choy are capable of starting in the future. It;s not like we have a boatload or walk on types.
With Jasper at Pepperdine and Browne going to BYU, maybe Stanford offered Presho an offer he couldn’t refuse.
It would have been great to have him here but if he decided to remain at Stanford, UH will be fine. Voss and Max will be solid.

Smart move by him and can't blame him. He already got his degree from Stanford. No sense coming here when you can stay closer to him and get doing so. The season is still far away so hopefully Wade can snag someone else...

I wonder if it was less of an offer he couldn’t refuse and more just getting accepted into Stanford Grad school if he already has his undergrad. Would’ve loved to see a season where Presho could compete for UH mostly because a lot of the Stanford administrative practices and decisions over the past few years has left a bad taste in my mouth, but hopefully this means that they’ll have some solid senior leadership to get the program back on track for the future. But yea, it’s not like Hawaii is hurting for talent or depth.
