Midway through the first set in the final, and it was just Ana Patricia and Rebecca. Agatha and Duda (with a nice block) making a push and getting back into this.

That’s a great showing for the young Latvians right before the Olympics. Hope they’re not too dismayed at just missing the medals this tourney.

Did the women's final stream go out during the first set?

Did the women's final stream go out during the first set? I ended up watching the Portuguese stream because I couldn’t get the English stream. And I still can’t find the bronze medal stream. Lots of other Gstaad streaming issues this weekend. The Brazil/Latvia semi was split between two streams with a large gap of missing action. And in yesterday’s quarterfinal between MHP/Pavan and Barbara/Carol they missed most of the first set because they had the wrong camera. Not sure if these were all technical difficulties or just the FIVB being careless. Looking forward to the Olympics when (hopefully) all matches will be broadcast entirely using high quality cameras and production.

*Mildly* infuriating how poor the video production quality was for this event. Surely it can’t be same crew as the other recent events?

Btw, just watched the semis between MHPavs and Dudatha and must reiterate how enjoyable it is to watch Duda’s incredible armswing, even if it’s against my Canadians. I responded to Melissa’s IG story a while ago with a question of whose swing is the most satisfying for her to dig up, and she answered that it’s Duda’s. Well, successful digs off of Duda swings were really few and far between today; She just completely had her way today with darn near every attack.

Agatha/Duda really capitalized on that today. I know she can play better ball, and I hope it’s coming soon hahah

I got a notification from YouTube saying there was a copyright issue for WMG (Warner Music Group) that prevented the bronze medal match being aired. I definitely heard some copyrighted music coming from the stadium sound system on some of the earlier matches.

I don't watch a lot of women's bv but I watched the semifinal Bra vs Can and I must say I was super impressed by Duda. She's incredibly good! What an amazing talent!

I don't watch a lot of women's bv but I watched the semifinal Bra vs Can and I must say I was super impressed by Duda. She's incredibly good! What an amazing talent! Unreal that she’s only 22 (turning 23 next month) - Incredible technique and poise already. Certainly Agatha at the age of 38 deserves a lot of credit too for their success and also with mentoring Duda. It’s a joy to watch their chemistry, as well as their admiration and appreciation for each other on the sand despite the age gap. I’ll be rooting for this team at Tokyo in addition to rooting for my Canadians.
