POY - Yoss SOY - Zerwas LOY - Adams TTU FOY - Bien COY - Reed Sunahara you don’t think Texas gets any honorees ? I know, odd choices on my part but I look at the “OY” awards maybe different than others. I do think Logan will compete for POY and it would be well deserved. They will dominate on the All Big12 teams though.

Their setter and libero are the their two weakest players so it wouldn’t make sense for them to get those. They don’t have a freshman playing and they have so many good hitters that the balance would make it harder for someone to win POY especially while there is a Yossiana Pressly in conference lol.

Agree, TX is so talented up front it’s crazy. I lean toward Yoss due to shifting positions and role on the team and yet she still leads in kills p/s and total points/s.

How long was she going to swim upstream? Getting passed by Texas Tech was probably the last straw . . . Yeah, TCU is in a huge volleyball hotbed and she couldn’t do anything with that advantage. Meanwhile Sunahara and Graystone are in Morgantown and Lubbock and have coached their teams up. Good on them, sad for Kramer but hopefully TCU can find someone who can capitalize on the local talent.

I'd have no issue if either Tech or WVU head coach is named Coach of the Year. But, Tech won at Baylor, and swept WVU on the road (I think). So, that's my justification for the Tech coach, in addition to turning the program around in a shorter amount of time.

I went with Reed because of what he’s done in conference the past two season and this year making history with WVUs first visit to the NCAA post season. He and Tony were hired just a year apart from each other so I’m not considering that so much. Both are deserving but I give the edge to Reed.

Why is the Big 12 always so late with the awards?

There is some irony that Kramer steps down at TCU while West Virginia (her prior coaching job) makes its first NCAA tournament in program history.
Around 2017/18 time period, I think many thought that TCU instead of Baylor would have been the next team to challenge Texas. They were improving on the floor plus she had at least one outstanding recruiting class. However I don't know what happened to her program as they have attrited most of the outstanding talent that she recruited then.

Here are the conference stats:
I know not everyone is a fan of Jhenna Gabriel's, but she led Texas to a .358 hitting percentage. Baylor's is .299. Tech's is .193. KSU's is .183 (6th out of 9 teams); West Virginia's is .180 (7th out of 9 teams). I mean, awarding the KSU or WVU setter for that type of team hitting percentage makes no sense. I realize they both average over 10 sets a game, but those hitting percentages are not good. Sedwick for Baylor might make the most sense as she also averages over 10 sets a game.
As far as Yossi versus Logan:
Kills per set: Yossi at 4.52; Logan at 3.83
Points per set: Yossi at 4.95; Logan at 4.54 Hitting %: Logan at .307 (8th overall); Yossi at .278 (not in the Top 10)
Aces: Logan with 21 total (3rd overall); Yossi with 9 total; not in Top 10
Blocks: Logan at .57 per set; Yossi at .43 per set Digs: Logan at 2.55 per set; Yossi at 1.86 per set

I feel like SKT has played way too much to warrant Gabriel as SOY even with the gaudy team HP.

Yeah, there's no way Texas doesn't at least get one of these awards, the most likely being POY.

Big 12 has favored the title holder if you look at past big 12 awards. POTY should definitely go to Logan. She's more well rounded than Yossi. Yossi for Offensive POTY if if we ever had such a thing or Bri (hitting over 516 in Conference...INSANE).
