I had mentioned K-State getting Dalia Wilson back in early January. I don't know that she plays much this year with Haley Warner coming back for one more year.
I expect Elena Baka (transfer from St. Mary's) to start at OH along with Aliyah Carter. A question is whether Ava LeGrand beats out Adams-Kaonohi at setter? I doubt they go with a 6-2 - but that would put Dalia in the mix this year. Baka and Carter are 6 rotation players. Fermholz returns as a starting MB and Jacksonville transfer Sydney Bolding is the only other MB on the roster (unless Wilson plays middle, but I believe a condition on her coming to Kansas State was to play RS?).
This team currently only has 11 on the roster. 2 setters, 3 pins, 2 MB, 3 DS/L and Dalia Wilson. They only have 1 verbal for 2023 (a L/DS) - they should have open spots for this year, either another transfer or Freshman. They need more depth.
I think Kansas State should be a better team in 2022 unless they suffer injuries.

She does play six rotations, as you noted.

One would think an another transfer MB is coming for at least depth, but they did only have 3 MBs last season as well. My guess was with Baka and Carter both able to play 6 rotation that they may opt to bring in Legrand in the 6-2 if she is ready. As you mentioned , this could free up Wilson to play as well. Baka should be upgrade over last season OHs (Nembhard had promising Freshman year, but didn't repeat it and transferred). New volleyball facilities are planned in 2023. So I hope this is the start for the team getting better over the next several years.

She doesn't have to be a high % hitter (some of this is a function of how good a team is) for her to be a sizeable upgrade over last year.

Her reception percentage was .953 on 400 attempts, which was easily the best for any Saint Mary's player with a high number of attempts. Now, I don't have access to the VolleyMetrics stats, which would give us a better idea, but I agree that she was probably added for passing. Edit: Just checked the box scores of the matches St. Mary's played against BYU (a strong serving team). Baka wasn't aced in either match.

I'm not sure if there's a 2022 Big 12 thread yet (I couldn't fine one), but the Big 12 apparently has its new commissioner.

Interesting hire for commish. Business model is changing. Appears conferences are moving from former ADs as commissioner to someone experienced in TV/entertainment.

And given the changes in college sports in the last few years (e.g. NIL), it makes sense to hire someone with an entertainment background. We'll have to see how it works out for both the Big 12 and the Pac-12 (which made a similar hire), but I can see the logic behind those moves. Edit: The E in ESPN stands for "entertainment."
