Kosholeva just announced her retirement. She will not be on the Olympic roster for Russia from the Russian national team? damn. must’ve realized that it wasn’t happening for her. will she still be playing professionally? It's just from the NT. http://instagram.com/p/CQoR92jlMNF

Does Kosheleva's retirement really impact the Russian NT all that much? I feel like Fedorovtseva and Voronkova will be sufficient.

Do you?

If she is, then I don’t see it affecting them much. However I do think that without Parubets, there’s no depth in that OH bench without Kosheleva. Damn I will miss her playing for Russia. Her performance during the 2015 World Cup was especially amazing.

I didn’t know, I was holding out hope that she would come back as I saw her train with the Russian team in Kosheleva’s recent vlogs. In that case, I see Kosheleva’s absence impacting the team negatively primarily in case of fatigue/injury, since it would likely mean that Voronkova and Federovtseva will probably start all games (as opposed to rotating the 3 of them against “weaker” teams). But other than that, I would say Voronkova and Fedrovtseva are better scorers and passers than Koshe

Looks like their their team is almost set except the middles because the brought Enina and Efimova to the training squad. Their OH will most likely be Voronkova, Fedorovtseva, Smirnova and Pilipenko (their second libero but will play as defensive player. I think this is a smart decision if it happens. Opp is Goncha and Lazareva

Having Kosheleva playing OH along with Voronkova, Fedorovtseva and Smirnova isnt tactically wise since they all have similar strengths and weakness. You are right Fedorovsteva will probably going to be murdered in serve-receive that is why they will be bringing a defensive player as their 4th OH which I think is going to be Pilipenko(their sencond libero right now)
