France just release their roster for the Tokyo olympics.
Setter : B.Toniutti A.Brizard Middle : N.Le Goff, B.Chinenyeze, D.Bultor OH : K.Tillie, E.Ngapeth, T.Clevenot, Y.Louati OPP : J.Patry, S.Boyer Libero : J.Grebennikov
Everyone here are playing in the VNL. No news on the alternates.
I'm not familiar with France but they beat Brazil in three sets. But they also lose to Netherlands. Was their win against Brazil just luck?

No Rossard? Is he just not good anymore? I saw that Lyneel didn't play pro last season so that was an expected omission.

Honestly there’s quite a drop off after Ngapeth at OH. And France can be so hot and cold… they’ve certainly got the talent but let’s see if they can live up to the expectation! I really like Chinenyeze. But like others here I think USA can take this matchup assuming they get it together.

But maybe the way he played yesterday against Italy sealed his fate? He got pulled after going 8-4-14. Not terrible, but I guess they prefer Tillie and Clevenot's passing.

I am really sad for Thibault, i would rather France bring 2 MBs, i dont think Bultor can give anything different.
Rossard's strongest skill among other OH (except N'Gapeth) is his serve. but Trevor has more aces than him in this VNL (correct me if i am wrong).
Lyneel's 80% healthy, he said he will continue to pursue his Olympic Dream. I wish Thibault not to retire from the NT, he'll be 31 come Paris.. Lyneel, N'Gapeth and Tillie will be like 35 by then, #OLD.

i think it's between him and Yacine.
France is a very good passing team with Grebennikov, N'Gapeth, Clevenot, Tillie and Rossard. Not much at the net, maybe Yacine and Trevor can provide better blocks.

OT
VNL's website sucks big time. No info on players about their height and reach, stats are up to maybe 20 only. tsk.tsk..

i also don't think they'll be bringing alternates to Tokyo. They said Thibault, Leo and Theo went back to France yesterday. the NT will fly to Okinawa on July 04, will have a friendly with Iran..

Based on the performances on these games in the VNL, Ngapeth, Tillie, Clevenot, Chinenyeze, Le Goff, Brizard, Toniutti, Patry and Grebennikov are sure in the lineup. That's nine. Bultor and Boyer I guess are ok. But I think Rossard and Lyneel performed better than Louati. As I said, I don't follow the France Men's Team. But I agree that Rossard should have been included.
