Can you imagine General Mills putting out a Tweet like: "We just signed a $10M deal with [athlete], your 2024 Olympic champion in [sport], but have no plans to put them on Wheaties boxes or do any other ad campaign ... this Tweet is it" 😏 I'm not aware of any company doing that with an NIL deal. Every one of these major "NIL deals" announced so far, is exactly that.
Point a single one that has used the athlete's NIL to launch a bona fide ad campaign. A Twitter post, ain't it.

Per your usual angle/shtick, all you care about is protecting athletes ability to earn money.
I get it. So you can come off it. I'm not trying to claw back the money from the athletes.
Your defenses can come down. An honest discussion can be had.

Even if I stipulate to the idea there's a distinction there, can you name an example of your 3b? Any major "NIL deal" for a major football player. None of the businesses plan to launch an advertising campaign using that player's NIL. There is an initial announcement of signing the deal, so beyond Twitter or local paper articles ... that's it. That's not bona fide, that's a sham.

Now do the rest of 999 out of 1000.

No, I've already refuted your assertion that all the major NIL deals for football players are BS.

I can change any time I want. I lose nothing for being wrong, you gain nothing for being right. We each get paid zero for our time on here, and no one cares what we think.
New assertion: 99.9% of the major "NIL deals" for major football and basketball players have zero intention of ever using those NILs to launch bona fide ad campaigns.

Hawai'i aired several commercials featuring the men's and women's volleyball players. And they got paid. If I can find them online, I'll share them.

These kinds of commercials were never seen until NIL, especially while the players were still in school. I would think that we will continue to see more of these commercials. Some collegiate VB players are like rock stars here, so businesses will jump on the chance to use them to sell products.

Unfortunately, there has been no benefit to the program… you’d think the Wahine would benefit from NIL. Are coaches allowed to make the NIL pitch to recruits ?

At the highest level of recruiting, using NIL as a recruiting tool quickly has become a popular tactic. A SEC football recruiting coordinator told On3, “Schools are not only saying they can help, but they are also making specific promises of how much. . . . I’m seeing it with a good 40 percent of kids.”

Is that still going to be your opinion when Nebraska has a collective for its volleyball team?

Is that still going to be your opinion when Nebraska has a collective for its volleyball team? Absolutely, I hope all schools show caution with these collectives.
