I am pretty excited that double days start next week and looking forward in the progress of LBSU’s team. Not having a season has really made me appreciate the past seasons and the joy I have watching the program throughout the years and spending time in the stands with fellow fans. I sure hope that the current plan of having fans in the stands does not change.
I am not sure if I like the ESPN plus tv coverage. It is my understanding that without that package fans will no longer be able to watch BW events through the school site.

Double days started on Monday and LBSU will have their Black and Gold scrimmage this Saturday, not even a week into practices. Nice to see the young ladies this early but might be some out of sync play. Watching the new setter from Poland will be my priority since a lot of this season’s success rests on her development.

I attended the scrimmage last night. As expected after only 5 full days of practice the team was rough and a work in progress. The main player I came to see was the new setter from Poland. I was pleasantly surprised by her play, especially early in the match. She was spreading the ball around and has a good command of the game. Of course she was not dialed in with her hitters but she set the ball everywhere and looked to have some pretty good hands. She was also a terror at the service line. I am really looking forward to the scrimmage this upcoming weekend to see how she does with another week of practice against a team from outside her own gym.

As expected, no BW schools in the AVCA pre-season top 25 but Hawaii are just outside the top 25 with UC San Diego and Cal Poly also receiving votes.

Looking at the schedules, CSUF plays Auburn on September 4, and then four days later Coach Preston’s New Orleans team plays the same Tigers team. Auburn looks vulnerable, but will either opposing team actually prevail?

UCSD received votes in the AVCA pre-season poll. The conference thinks otherwise?

UCSD received votes in the AVCA pre-season poll. The conference thinks otherwise? Methinks there are coaches out there who are unaware that UCSD isn't USD.

UCSD received votes in the AVCA pre-season poll. The conference thinks otherwise? Evidently somebody thinks they are better than Cal poly?

It's nice being predicted to finish 10th. So all of the teams we beat and finish above will hang their heads. I predict 7th.

Your prediction is the same prediction as Fullerton's head coach's prediction; 10 coaches predicted - or their predictions averaged - Fullerton to come second to last place (10*2=20) with one coach -- most likely Fullerton's coach -- voting Fullerton in 7th place (1*5=5) for 25 points. I think Fullerton's defense is better than expected and they come in 6th place; beating out UCI.

Usually you can't vote for yourself.
