In my job, I sometimes have to wake up at odd hours to have telephone meetings with my employer's suppliers in Asia. But my company is generous in that they usually give me sometime to recover in sleep. But now watching Tokyo matches, I don't have that luxury. I gotta get up as usual and go to work in the morning. So my question is, how do you guys do it? Stay up night after night to watch these matches? Hats off to you for your dedication, but how do you get the energy the next day? I mean, I tried to stay awake for the Italy vs Turkey match, but in the end it was too much for me and I had to get back to bed. What's your secret, man?

I’m on the east coast and can barely stay up for the 10:05 games that US has played. I’ve watched a couple of the 10 and 11 pm beach games but that’s my limit. I try to stay off social media and VT until I can watch the middle of the night replays the next day. Had a work meeting this morning, watched Turkey-Italy replay, then crashed this afternoon watching Brazil-DR and went to another dimension…the best kind of nap. Definitely not functioning at 100% after a week of this.

Definitely not functioning at 100% after a week of this. Let's hope the bosses don't notice that, haha.

A lot of coffee and an afternoon nap.

My solution is simple. Work a job with a boss who loves the Olympics just as much as I do. Easy for me really since I am the boss...

I have Cox cable, so I am able to access the NBC network's "Full Event Replays" online. Like the poster above noted, I stay off social media and don't watch the news until I've watch whatever match or matches I'm interested in.

I love the Olympics, I really do...the summer games, the winter games....from equestrian to curling....from badminton to biathlon...they only come every couple of years, so you need to prepare properly, get mentally focused...thrive during the glory of the games, and handle the physical demands like a true champion....to quote Billie Jean King and Novak Djokovic.... “Pressure is a privilege. Without pressure there is no professional sport. If you are aiming to be at the top of the game, you better start learning how to deal with pressure and how to cope with those moments – on the court but also off the court,” That, combined with a DVR and the NBC Olympics Sports App that has every event on replay, it's a piece of cake.....

A lot of coffee and an afternoon nap. I wish I could take afternoon naps in my office...sigh.

A lot of coffee and an afternoon nap. I wish I could take afternoon naps in my office...sigh. It helps that I am usually the only one there after 12 noon. I generally go home by 1 pm. Gives me a solid 3 hour window to nap before I have to be up for the next matches.

Big old log jam tomorrow morning! I’d like to watch the replay of Russia China since it will probably be spoiled by the announcers in the US Turkey match, but women’s all around gymnastics starts at 6:50 am est and should juuuust finish by the time the US game starts. THEN on the beach side for women, Germany NED (pool a), Canada (heather/brandie) vs dudatha, on the men’s side Brazil NED in Phil and Nick’s pool.
Plus that thing…my job? 🤷🏻♀️
