So US, Italy, Turkey and Russia move into the elimination round. Not quite. I still think China can beat Italy and they would finish with 7 points. Turkey or Russia can still finish below 7 points. Not over just yet. Heck, even the USA could lose 3-1 in their last three matches to Turkey, Russia, and Italy and still finish below China. Stranger things have happened. Not counting any scenarios out. not if they play like this... |

Irresponsible for the commentator to say that China will finish 5th with Argentina. You can say likely, most likely, heck even 90% chance or whatever arbitrary number you pick. But, can't say that. It's not like the scenarios require something like Kenya beating Brazil. Again, stranger things have happened.
Yes, China will have to play better. They played better today and were up late about to win 3-1. They can still turn it around. Unlikely? yes. Possible? yes.

I wanted to stay up for Japan/Brazil.. but I don't think I'm gonna make it.
Please don't screw it up Brazil... Dominicana *really* needs Japan to lose. Korea doesn't particularly care as they clinch a QF berth beating Japan regardless of what happens in that match. But, should Korea end up losing to Japan, their scenarios are better if Japan loses to Brazil.

That China vs Italy on the last day is going to be a survival match for China! Italy better bring it!!! China plays Italy next. They must win that AND hope for other things to fall their way. China will know their fate, whether they have a chance or not before their final match against Argentina. Pool B will be all decided, China has the last match of the Pool that 5th round. |
