They’re already buying clubs from what I’ve gathered. They’ve reached out to a bunch, checking books, running valuations and buying them up if terms are agreeable. By keeping all customer facing aspects appearing untouched, nobody knows that ownership has changed.
Tawa’s linkedin excerpt regarding League One:
“Club Platform and Content League One Volleyball May 2020 - Present1 yr 4 mos Los Angeles, California I serve in an advisory capacity to LOVB, a mission-oriented start up aiming to change the way volleyball is played and expressed. My role includes envisioning how volleyball clubs can best operate, both ethically in the way they treat coaches and players and financially to maximize their revenue potential. It also includes advising the company on what clubs would be good fits for the LOVB community.”

So what does it mean that they have a partnership? What is benefit for each by partnering? Besides a rhetoric heavy mission statement and know other stated objectives it is unclear where this goes from here?

Besides a rhetoric heavy mission statement and know other stated objectives it is unclear where this goes from here? I would guess that this could be an LOVB club purchase here? As an owner, while I could certainly get behind the mission statement here ( I am sure they could make their own) the only way I would "partner" with anyone is if they threw some money my way or invested in my business. I am assuming over the next couple of months we will see more announcements such as this especially towards fall...

There seems to be a fair number of teams: found a team in virginia, florida, texas, they all have their team name with the addition of One at the end: example: texas one volleyball ! They seem to be partnering but difficult to see how/ when / why they are and what it means for the club ??

More Unearned promotion than several college programs. Who is in charge? Who are proven trainers of the game? Just saw Morrison is back in staff with Texas. How can he structure programs outside Austin?

I thought this was something like when TCA was going to take over the volleyball world....which we all know collapsed pretty quickly.
This is a different approach--going after big clubs. The problem with that is that a lot of these big clubs don't always get along....it will be interesting to see it play out.

Is this recent? I was pretty sure there was a new ownership group over a year ago. Did LOVB buy out that group?

Not sure about the actual transaction or whether its just an alliance but it sounded like it was a strong alliance that included some form of ownership change. It was just announced to the Board this morning and I'm sure will be broadly announced soon with more details.

Typically clubs don't get along when competing for the same players in a given market. Does anyone have more info on the pro setup? Timing? Players? Coaches? Location(s)?
