Argentina and France together had about the same amount of service errors that the USA was having each match. Yikes. Serving literally makes or breaks you. Teams should just spend 90% of their time on serve. France missed 7 serves in game one, a number of them first serves, and still won 25-22. At this level, missed serves (sometimes gobs of them) are simply part of the game. The side-out rate at this level is so high, they have to take risks. Lack of a consistently money OOS put-away attack hurt us just as much, especially late in games. The USA could not get it done here. France set their middles in this match a total of 9 times (similar to our middle attack in our game against Argentina), but its team serve reception and pin attackers consistently scored when it counted.

I found it weird that they switched the commentators in the middle of this match and then back. I expected them to go with the two commentator approach like Brazil vs. ROC. Unless I just heard the same British dude and the audio changed but I’m pretty sure I heard two distinct people each calling a part of the match alone

Unless I just heard the same British dude and the audio changed but I’m pretty sure I heard two distinct people each calling a part of the match alone Yup, that was very strange. And, both guys were British. The first one was the nasally one. Then, the second guy had the deeper voice. At the end of the match (4th set), the first guy came back. In one of the matches, the first British commentator (the nasal one) commented that one of the players was "amphibious". Of course, he meant ambidextrous. ha ha ha! I had to play it back to make sure I heard it right. ha ha ha!
