What a crazy finish for volleyball. 2 5 set matches and the winners were the 3rd and 4th seeds. And all 4 teams from the same pool. I guess I dont' feel as bad for the US as I did before. Both France and Argentina played some phenomenal volleyball down the stretch just to make it to the QFs and kept it going thru the medal rounds. Still kinda shocked they both won. But damn what a spectacle to watch. And esp the way France started this tourney. Beaten by both the US and Argentina, so they had to come up big in their last 2 pool play matches just to qualify. So crazy. Grats to France for coming out on top of an epic tournament!

Russia was prepared for Patry but thankfully Ngapeth stepped up.

Russia was prepared for Patry but thankfully Ngapeth stepped up. They did extremely well defending Clevenot too

To think that the USA mens team decimated this France team. Tillie finally made the right choices and kept this team playing loose and confident. He’s made some questionable decisions but who cares now when he’s got that medal🥇

Russia was prepared for Patry but thankfully Ngapeth stepped up. They did extremely well defending Clevenot too People praised Clevenot and Patrt since quarterfinals. And Russia was very prepared for them. Maybe Ngapeth's lackluster performance before this game was a factor. They never thought Ngapeth still has that in him. Well, I never did. I thought he was in the same boat as Boyer. Previously a star player of france but now just a bench.

To think that the USA mens team decimated this France team. Technically, we didn't. Brizzard and Clevenot didn't start against USA. Only came in as subs late. By then, the team as a whole was deflated. Not to say USA didn't put on one hell of a first match. Props to L. Tillie for recognizing what wasn't working for his team and adjusted.
