Im still shocked tbh, in a good way of course. The way France started off the Olympics and how they finished was just night and day. I was so nervous when they started the 5th down 0-3 and thought we were about to see a replay of London 2012.
But honestly, France was a perfect matchup to beat teams like Poland and Russia. France’s reception severely limits the effects of strong serving teams and then counters the teams that don’t have that great of back court defense. France’s offense might not have been the best in the tournament, but their backcourt was definitely
Also, I hope with a first time gold medalist being on the men’s side means we’ll see it on the women’s 🙏🏼

People think how can Team A beat Team B, and B beat C, but C beat A. Match ups. All these teams in QFs are great, and even a favorable matchup isn't a guarantee - I mean, France could easily lose to Poland or Russia on a given day. But, that they have chance on a given day and can win on a given day is due to the match up. This was such a great match. Like you, I really thought France might blow the 2-0 set lead. 3-0 Russia in the first set was concerning, but even more so when it was 6-3 Russia. Wow, just wow.

Amazing that the French made that early adjustment after the first two matches -- took out his own son as a starter for the rest of the tourney. France really had a team effort - different players were huge in different matches.

For the record I think Ngapeth is over-rated. 😁

For the record I think Ngapeth is over-rated. Did you eat your words yet or you're letting them cool down?

YOU DID IT AGAIN!! Why weren't those players there? Are they retired former team members? Injuries? Roster limits kept them off the Olympic team?

YOU DID IT AGAIN!! Why weren't those players there? Are they retired former team members? Injuries? Roster limits kept them off the Olympic team? Rossard was in the line up in the Olympic Intercontinental Qualifier where they lose against Poland. Le Roux and Lyneel were in the line up in the European Qualifier that France won. Reason why they are in the olympics. Le Roux is currently healing. Back injury they say. Rossard and Lyneel were cut because only 12 people are needed in the Olympics. 4 Outside hitter to be precise. Lyneel was still recovering from injury and Louati was picked over Rossard (maybe because of seniority. Louati is older than Rossard)
