I put this on our TV listings post in women's volleyball, but wanted to add it here both to inform and vent: FYI, the women's gold-medal match tonight will be shown on USA Network. Per the NBC news release, NBC is going to pick it up but won't show it in its entirely. The good news is it's the last Olympic volleyball we have to watch on NBC in these games. NBC has shown a wonton disrespect for our sport in ways that are more insulting than can be imagined, from starting coverage of indoor and beach matches already in progress to extended commercial breaks during the action. Wait who has broadcasting rights to the next games in Paris? NBC will.

Wait who has broadcasting rights to the next games in Paris? NBC will. I misinterpreted the post that this was the last Olympic volleyball match on NBC but NBC doesn’t do a good job of broadcasting appropriately so it’s really annoying but so it goes. I think ABC partnership with ESPN would be best, who knows though.

Will someone who’s going to watch live volunteer to PM me if they win? I have an early morning flight so won’t be able to watch. That way if I have a PM here I’ll know they won, if I don’t I’ll cry 😭 Why not sleep on the flight ?

Meanwhile, I have never thought Brazil will be playing for the Gold. Gabi, a 5'9 OH - who is a world class player, I mean... can you imagine? And Carol Gattaz - your 40-yo MB...who, in her younger years, can't crack the Brazilian line up is playing for the Gold. Still, USA has the advantage in almost all positions and should will win the Gold Medal. FIFY

Any other link for tonight's match apart from NBC? I am not in the US at the moment so everything's blocked. Is yrsprts doing this live? Thanks a lot! I’ll post the CBC (needs VPN) and NBC online stream before the match starts.

Looks like we’ll have NBC through the summer games of Paris, LA, and Australia. In 2011, NBC agreed to a $4.38 billion contract with the International Olympic Committee to broadcast the Olympics through the 2020 games, the most expensive television rights deal in Olympic history. NBC then agreed to a $7.75 billion contract extension on May 7, 2014, to air the Olympics through the 2032 games.

Not gonna lie, I’m pretty nervous for this match, as I have been for all the other beach volleyball and indoor volleyball matches that the USA have played in. 🦋

I'll be looking at the mental aspect of the game too...I feel like we've been severely affected by nerves in a lot of these big matches, I'm thinking Brazil in 2012, Serbia+Netherlands in 2016. Even against Serbia in 2021, I felt like it was better but we had some moments that were overcome because we had so much of a cushion to make mistakes. In terms of the tangible game plan, our coaching staff has been awesome this whole tournament and I see no reason for that to change.

#4 Pool B magic struck again, but, this time on the Men's indoor side.
If USA didn't come back from down 1-2 against Italy and didn't win the 4th or 5th set, USA would have been #4 Pool B too and this Gold Medal Match would have actually been a Quarterfinal. Crazy.

Extremely tough spot for anyone to crack during their reign.

I'm torn, do I watch the match or Sharknado 5: Global Swarming on another network. It's a tough call.

I'm torn, do I watch the match or Sharknado 5: Global Swarming on another network. It's a tough call. Now you are informed and can decide easier WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW Parents need to know that Sharknado 5: Global Swarming is a 2017 deliberate B movie in which Fin and the gang battle sharknadoes once again, this time all over the world. The formula that initially worked and rapidly dwindled as the law of diminishing returns took effect is in full force here. Sharks kill and maim humans (often D-list celebrities) in a variety of ways, said D-list celebrities make endless groan-worthy one-liners, and the inherent stupidity of the premise is embraced to the fullest extent. There's also obnoxious product placement, some sexual innuendo, and some mild profanity ("b#@$," "damn," "ass"). There are also frequent explosions, destruction of buildings, and a decapitation.
