Honestly, the Pan Am cup is going to screw over whichever team doesn't make the AQ spot (unless its Mexico) Mexico can't get a ranking spot. Puerto Rico looks pretty good for a spot... honestly Canada might too. The three Euro squads getting AQs (Serbia, Dutch, Poland) help. If turkey and Italy can claim the AQs... that's even better I forgot about how the PanAm Cup could mess with everything! I know Canada likely won’t have a strong team due to pro commitments. So really, AQ is the safest (and probably only route) for Canada and Mexico.

I know there were rumors of this being her last season Russia or Italy are fine... I just said Italy because I think they'll win. (Russia is ranked higher I think)

Canada can still get in via ranking (sucks that the Asian teams won't be playing... that could've helped) Luckily the Pan Am games only has a ranking weight of 10. Canada at 171 and PR at 181, Canada would lose 2 or 3 points if they were to get swept.

Wow. Bricio just couldn't get it done. Way too many errors and had all the chances to get it done at crucial moments.

Mexico is a setter away from being decent, but with none in their local league pipeline and Ung at WSU (sitting on the bench at that, and unavailable fully for the next 3 years*) it’s not looking good. *Worse, WSU throws Ung in at Opp when she does get playing time.
Hope Bricio is up for trying til 2028 👀

DR will be even more ancient so NORCECA's spots will really be up for grabs

Maldonado will be available by then too, and while I know Parra has the hype - unpopular opinion - Maldonado >>> Parra.

Puerto Rico was just the better team today. Love that we went from #FreeAbercrombie to potentially seeing her at the World Championships!!!

It looks like Cuttino is not even on the bench. Evans was announced as team captain during introductions. Interesting. She was seated watching, I heard the announcers say ‘get well Cuttino’ but not sure what’s wrong with her

Any thoughts on these upcoming matchups?
I am excited to see how this USA "young" team will play against the DR A team. I hope our passing will be okay.

Kramer is really retiring? Yes. And the sad part is she has gotten so much better than when she was in Florida. She helped her team in Italy to be promoted in A1 and they wanted her back but she decided to retire. Her improvement from college to pro/NT is so much better than Alhassan’s. She should reconsider her decision of retiring.
