Tama has officially replaced Slabe too I'm not sure I like this. I hope I'm wrong. Were there any other options? I doubt it... seems like Tama was responsible for a lot of the help for JWO and the passing unit in general. I think she's definitely qualified for it.

Felix is officially out as the German HC.
The federation said they didn't want someone to coach a german club and the NT anymore, so Felix chose Schwerin over the NT.

Winner - USA 1st RU - Russia 2nd RU - Italy Semifinalist - Serbia You really think that China and Brazil won't be in the medals picture? What about Turkey? Vargas will could be joining Turkey and Li YingYing is only going to get better and better which bodes well for China.

Poland is down to four options as the next head coach of the NT (Santarelli, Lavarini, Antiga, Chiappini) linkSantarelli it is, then. WOOOOOOOAAAAAAHHHH. That's huge. Poland is about to make some noise. What they need is a better libero and a bit more discipline (which Santarelli will provide) and they will start to win medals.

I low key don’t think Brazil is go ba be very good at the next major That was what I thought about Brazil and Russia heading into Tokyo and yet both teams over performed IMO. @reach is correct in stating that both Serbia and Russia have very questionable futures at the setting position. If Ognjenović and Startseva retire from their respective NT's, all bets are off for those two teams for this tournament IMO. We still don't know who will stick around after this club season. We will just have to wait and see who is still around and healthy. Either way, USA is looking pretty stocked and ready for the next several years with even more talent about to break onto the scene.

Mateeva is a serviceable setter especially considering the hitters russia has don’t really need perfect sets to terminate. Mirković sucks but she’s been improving in her limited action with the NT whenever she’s played at least. Who knows maybe she’ll get good 🤷🏼♂️ As long as she connects with Bošković Serbia will be competitive

I dont see why Brazil won't be competitive.. they're returning their most important core pieces, Gabi-Carol-Macris
Natalia is getting healthy... Ana Cristina is waiting in the wings. Bergmann will or should be popping around next summer.
Biggest question will be at opposite. Rosamaria is serviceable but meh.
I have doubts about China. Rumors are they don't want to take WCH 22 seriously, but rather the Asian games/championship... plus they're all injured anyways. CVA is a mess.

I just don't see them winning any medals until these young setters develop.

I mean we saw glimpses of what they could do at the Olympics

It would seem that China may not be as dominant as we all thought? Post Rio I would have bet the house that Tokyo and Paris were theirs to lose. It's funny how anything is possible in sport. I was ready to write off Brazil and Russia but they both are proving to have more depth in their programs than I realized.
