Orzol stretched with the team, but then seemed to have been held out of the rest of warm ups. Not so sure she’s going to be playing tonight.

That fact has me a bit worried. It's suggests that UW is still really dependent on in system attacking. A period of slightly wonky passing and the balance of play can shift markedly against the best competition. Their passing should be more resilient this year, but they still need to improve OOS options. That’s true, but should rarely be an issue… doesn’t mean it won’t bite them at some point. A backcourt of Barnes, Boyer, and Civita really de-stresses it a lot of the time. |

Sheffield pregame:
Depth in backcourt is a strength. All three could be libero. All can pass and defend. Getting better serving and OOS setting.
Hart: Very twitchy, quick up and quick to swing, hitting with a lot more range, she should be great this year in transition. Working on footwork. Better than last year. Playing next to Devyn reduced opportunities.
Theory about lineups: Texas, Kentucky, Stanford have evolved to be great at end. They tried to do that in Spring, but COVID. Does not see a fixed lineup. Wants to develop layers like those great teams.

White pregame:
Peterson: Agree with Dayton Coach that she is among the most physical OHs they'll face. Will hit all around the court.
Almadovar: Scrappy player. Reminds him of Lily Johnson and Carly Nussbaum. Block needs to be set.
Setter: Hard to say what will happen with starter gone. May go 5-1 or 6-2. The two main setters set a similar tempo which is something less to worry about.

In the U20 World Championships Orzol had a bum ankle and wore an ankle brace. She isn't wearing a brace now.
My guess is they know Orzol is starting OH2, and want the other outsides to play to see who is going to win the OH1 spot.
