Is this where one puts in a post suggesting that USC might be about to hire Urban Meyer now that he seems to have done something pretty...well, troubling.
Google it.

Is this where one puts in a post suggesting that USC might be about to hire Urban Meyer now that he seems to have done something pretty...well, troubling. Google it. I think Meyer's latest troubles actually make it extremely unlikely that USC will hire him. If he just got fired because he couldn't win any football games in the NFL, that would be one thing. But if he gets fired because he's embroiled in scandal, then I think the already scandal-ridden USC will look elsewhere for the same reason that UCLA didn't want to hire Rick Pitino, even though Pitino would undoubtedly do an amazing job there. Now, I do think Urb might return to college soon, but I think a school like Miami or LSU or Florida State would be more likely to look the other way on him than current USC would. A couple years ago, it was my dream for Urb to be coaching USC football and Pitino to be coaching UCLA basketball at the same time. Sadly, I don't see that happening.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the same guy who, when he found out one of his assistant coaches was abusing his wife, said his message to her was, "I'm sorry we're in this situation."

So what exactly is the "scandal" that Urban Meyer is involved in? Some lady at a bar/restaurant dancing up against him? Or is there something else? I mean sure, I could see his wife getting upset about that situation. But unless there is something I'm missing, I'd hardly consider that a big "scandal" that should effect his employment.

His team is 0-4. That makes it a scandal.

I mean, in a vacuum, you'd probably be right. But there are lots of stories coming out of Jacksonville that it's not going well. And this is a guy who has left two big-time college football programs (Florida and Ohio State) for "health" reasons before going back to coaching not long thereafter. And he's had other scandals on his watch, such as the one at Ohio State that Mike pointed out. His Florida teams had a lot of arrests, and that doesn't even include Aaron Hernandez. But he's unquestionably a great college football coach who has won everywhere he's been, so I'm sure someone will hire him after he leaves the Jags.

I mean, Jacksonville's owner put out an ominous statement saying that Meyer had to "regain" their trust. I don't think he's long for that job.

Texas coughs up a huge lead and ends up losing in one of the most wildly entertaining games I can recall watching. Holy Schnikes. Spencer Rattler goes from Heisman contender to backup QB over the course of 30 minutes as OK’s frosh QB comes in to put up 35 points in the 2nd half on top of a 65 yard TD run in the first half. Kid’s electric.

Incredulity ... I’m incredulous over that bow tie. I mean, that's a little microcosm of Texas students ... one guy with a Cowboy hat, one guy with a baseball hat, and the tie.

I did not have “BYU poops the bed at home” on my bingo card.
