Latvian Līva Ēbere commits. I don’t recall USC having a non North American player since Tina left. 🤣 I can imagine some people cursing that USC might have gotten someone like Tina, but those expectations are probably too lofty. Maybe someone like thelat can comment on Liva’s abilities and skills. This site has some good data for indoor jumping stats. cev.eu Liva EbereLīva Ēbere Birth date. 2007 Height. 181cm (5’11”) Spike Reach 300cm (9’10”) Block Reach. 290cm (9’6”) Seems that Līva and her partner Deniela Konstantinova (TCU commit) got Bronze at the European U22 Championships a week ago. Pretty impressive for 16 year olds. http://instagram.com/p/C8nBDc7CvM1

Like who? I’ve heard of all the girls who have committed to the top programs. Not trying to bash anyone here so rather not list names... Just a few that weren’t in volleyballmag or Fab50 or NTDP…Not saying I know all but just based off 3 of those lists and top finishes in some big tournaments. I have heard of all these girls too crossover2 and I do not see "absolutely random" girls on the list.

Since this is a USC thread: USC Commits- Emma Champagne, NTDP Jordyn Scribner, u19 Layli Ostovar, NTDP Kara Namimatsu, NTDP

She has been doing well in CEV underage for some time. I wondered if someone was noticing, given her age. I posted in the "next ncaa season" thread a match of her playing with a TCU incoming freshman and against anohter in the Madrid Futures. Ended up finishing 4th. If someone is interested.

Five excellent recruits so far. Much better recruiting round than last year--maybe had extra $$ to give out to make up for last year's class? With all these good commits, I wonder if the Sarah Wood rumors are true, if we even have enough scholarship money to give her. Ostavar is a free crossover from indoor, but Champagne and Scribner are top recruits and a Latvian international can't be cheap. Wood taking her time to announce her commitment is anxiety inducing!

In addition to various age group tournaments she as played competitively in several Futures With Coakley playing in FIVB's this year, that's two future players with international experience in Futures and Challengers events (Coakley/Sweat won bronze in last two Futures and placed decently in the last challenger). I'd say USC is doing pretty good this recruiting season. On a side note, I think we are going to start seeing juniors finding ways to crack into the AVP and FIVB tournaments more and more.

Thank you to Larabeach and Thelat for their insights into Līva Ēbere. The video was pretty good. With regards to this shaping up to be a stellar recruiting class and specifically $$, I have a few thoughts: 1) Dain and Gus have now beyond solidified their coaching reputations with the surprise title in 2023 and this year’s follow-up. Also, USC continues to build the reputation as the best pro pipeline for the elite players identified by USAV as probable future national team members. 2) The 2022 recruiting class of Walker, White, Thomas, Karl, Showalter had been the strongest/deepest class in years. This 2026 class is a full four year cycle after that class so maybe there is a bit of scholarship bump/peak/bubble with these two classes. 3) USC’s NIL efforts are questionable overall, but there is a good chance that some of the NIL money has come to USC Beach. The athletic department is in a title drought for the past four years except for Beach VB. Speaking of NIL money, I ordered one of the Leaf Pro Set collector sets of the 2024 USC Beach title team. My autograph card was Molly Phillips, which feels like a sleeper rookie card. Check back in 3 years…

Also, congrats to Sophie Bukovec for making the Olympics! USC to Olympics beach volleyball pipeline truly unmatched.

Like I said previously, I was not referring to the USC commits as the random girls… Just girls to some of the other top programs. Some of those girls that seemed random in my estimation meaning not in the top 25 from different lists I’ve seen, etc. From the lists I’ve gathered and seen posted in different threads… I would say the ones still not having made their announcements are Sarah Wood , Ella Grimes, Ciela Hendrickson, the two sets of twins (Junk and Taylor), and Simone Roslon. There may be others I am missing, but those were some that I just saw recently on a list in a thread.

I haven't had the chance to see her in action, but it seems like she's a regular on both beach and indoor NTDP teams for quite some time now. I'm guessing there's a good reason she keeps getting picked. From what I gather on her Instagram account, she seems to be more focused on indoor.

Was she in NTDP this year?
