D1 - Kami Miner Stanford Jaden Newsome Iowa State Sidney Hilley Wisconsin Newsome was a back up at her two previous schools where the person she was behind is still playing. Deluzio got moved to Libero because Ewert was the better all around option. Ewert > Newsom

Kendra Wait, more than just a setter. Compare her current stats to three players from last season:
Setter School Kills Blk Dig (per set)
Kendra Wait* Creighton 1.26 1.00 3.06 Sydney Hilley** Wisconsin 0.42 0.48 2.52 Madison Lilley** Kentucky 0.65 0.54 2.53 Ella May Powell** Washington 0.58 0.61 2.39
* Current Freshman ** 2020 First Team All American
H/T Wizard of Westroads at Bluejay Underground

And I wasn't trying to prove that Wait is better than the others; merely that she belongs in the "best setters" conversation. Creighton's attack pct will need to improve. The lower numbers are due to injuries to 2 starters that have forced continuous lineup shuffles in the RS and MB2, and a connection with Hickman that has been slow to develop but is improving.

She's incredibly underrated. Such a talent. She definitely is underrated. I love how she runs her offense and she doesn't shy away from being aggressive at the net too which I love in a setter. You want to make the blockers respect you just as much a middle blocker or OH when in the front row as well and she does that.

So far, I like Dilfer from Louisville, Miner from Stanford, Grome from Kentucky, Podraza from Ohio State, Powell from Washington. Ewert from Colorado has an impeccable all around game as well.

Bayley McMenimen, Minnesota, deserves some credit. Saved their butts this past weekend and helped create a whole new energy on the floor. Clean hands and great tempo/location. Sure, great hands but undersized to run a 5-1 at that level. Game is just too big for her.

Haven’t seen everyone but the best setter I have watched is Tori Dilfer, Hilley would be a close second.

Just watched first set Kentucky v Louisville, more missed connections from Dilfer than I'd like to see.

Hilley is playing lights out, pre conference (8-0). She has mastered Wisconsin's version of "fast tempo", and her 347 assists have resulted in the whole of their team hitting a phenominal hitting average of .356. Her connections to the Wisconsin hitters have been the best of her career. Those fastballs she is serving have amplified the contributions of the team's freshmen as well. Much needed post Danielle Hart season ending injury. Watched alot of VB this year, and she is truly elite this season.

I like a lot of what she does, but she 2-hand pushes to the corners WAYYYYY too much. Does this mean attack second ball by setting over to 1 or 5 to often??

Bush from Purdue is an unsung hero for the Boilermakers.
