Good game Badgers. Just too much for MU and the #BEast. MU needs to work on their first contact before meeting Creighton. Wisconsin is probably one of the top serving teams... but thats just way too many bad passes/aces given up. THey came in with a plan to exploit Schoessow and did so very handily. Yep, as they should. She's MU's weakest link. They really miss Konovodoff. Martha wasn't the best passer, but her leadership and direction is missed.

Green Bay and Northern Illinois next
Let's see some creative lineups

Doesn't your left have to get involved with serve-receive from time to time? Has Devyn ever done any serve-receive? Again, she would never have to pass a ball at OH1 Yes. Because she will never play there! Not happening!

Also good for UW: 42 digs to 28. That's 50% better.

The way Wisconsin is passing and serving.
They can blowout top 25 teams while not having their A game
It is really impressive

(Also, more clearly than ever, no red-shirt for Jardine.)

Devyn Needs to be on the left (I have to say that at least once per match) Wisconsin has wanted a dominant All American on the left forever. They have one in her. I get the impulse but no.

This would really be no different than Allie Barber. She was a middle in high school, converted to a stud OH who didn’t play back row. I love Devyn on the right, but making her an OH isn’t that unheard of.

Yeah. That's a very superficial comparison. First Allie Barber was 6-4, or 6-5.
The idea that UW can translate Devyn's 0.400 HP hitting in system on the RS alongside a powerful middle attack, to the left side where she will be on an island picking up garbage like Loberg is, at a minimum, very wishful. But beyond that, she has been a middle not only for high school and club, but also for the national team, and the badgers literally have no one else to fill that middle spot in future years, so she is going to have to move back to it. Somebody else will have to play left next year, and who then plays RS who can have near the return that Devyn has? And she will need good passing and a balanced attack to succeed on the left, yet moving her to left has several knock on effects on the rotation that will likely make passing worse.
None of it makes any sense. You solve one problem, maybe, and create 4 others almost certainly.

I’ve often thought that might be interesting as well. I would love to see The Badgers try her on the left side and Smrek on the right side. Could you imagine that block of Rettke and Smrek against the opponents left side attack. Combine that with the dynamic attacking of Robinson on the left side for us. I think that would be very, very interesting.
