#2 Wisconsin vs. RV Marquette Sunday, September 12th, 2021 - 4:30 PM Central Al McGuire Center - Milwaukee, WI The annual series between Wisconsin’s two Power 5 volleyball programs has become something that we all look forward to. It usually winds up being a great weekend for both teams’ fan bases. It’s morphed into a co-hosted tournament of sorts, with an out-of-state program coming to play each team at home, and the Wisconsin/Marquette match alternating between sites. This year, Kentucky played the Badgers on Friday night in Madison and played Marquette on Saturday night in Milwaukee, before the two Wisconsin rivals square off on Marquette’s home court. The Badgers are 5-0 on the season, with their most recent win coming over Kentucky in the aforementioned Friday night match. The Golden Eagles are currently 6-1 on the season. They were undefeated going into the weekend, but lost to Kentucky in straight sets on Saturday night. So Wisconsin is looking to stay undefeated, and Marquette is looking for redemption. The coaches, Sheffield and Theis, go way back to Ohio, when Sheff coached at Dayton and Theis at Ohio University in Athens. Did you know...?Marquette’s volunteer assistant coach, Peter Netisingha, is an alum of UW Madison, and served as volunteer assistant at Wisconsin under Pete Waite, from 2009-2011

Marquette has been running - I guess you would call it - a modified 6-2 offense, with Claire Mosher and Taylor Wolf setting, and Wolf (at 6'2") staying on the court as opposite when Mosher comes in. Middles are Savannah Rennie and Carsen Murrey. Ellie Koontz subs with Mosher to be Wolf's opposite. Hope Werch plays six rotation left OH and Hannah Vanden Berg subs with DS Carly Skrabak for the other left OH. Libero is Katie Schoessow.
(At least that's what they were doing vs Hawaii in the sets I watched).

It's not on Flo! that's a win already lol
Taylor Wolf is Marquette's do-all, and she's great at it (even if she didn't have a great weekend last year)
Savannah Rennie is the best middle in the country that no one talks about.
Marquette needs their passing to hold up. That's always been their downfall. But they are very good servers. Werch, Rennie, and Wolf all have really good serves.

I suppose I can take down the “Under Construction” gif now. The only thing I’m missing is a direct link to the FS1 stream, which I can’t seem to find. I’ll keep looking.

But this’ll work on game day, which is most important.

I’m a HUGE Savannah Rennie fan. She’s doing really well at Marquette, and I’m so glad for her.

Marquette was swept by Kentucky... but honestly should've won the second (28-30) and third (24-26) sets... sigh. Wolf was her usual self, with 13 kills hitting .429 while Werch also had 13 kills, hitting above .300. I'm hoping for a really good match (and a good showing from the #BEast) lol

Was 2019 the home disaster where the Badgers were up 2-0?
